Back then ECX was not mature enough and you gain nothing from native build. _________________ Amiga Developer Amiga 500, Efika, Mac Mini and PowerBook |

Not OS4! But ECX has been stable for some time now, stable enough, so AR could have been compiled for MOS in the last few years. |

I was talking of MorphOS native build. Making native build wont make difference to anything. _________________ Amiga Developer Amiga 500, Efika, Mac Mini and PowerBook |

Depends on your definition of "back then". It sure was capable enough when Gelb was still around. And I wouldn't say you gain nothing from native build..

"Back then" is quite vague because time line has blurred after all those years. Gelb started to lose interest after 2005 and although Gelb remained active couple of years after it never got proper release again. The last version I have is from 2008. IIRC Gelb used ECX occasionally but it took quite lot effort to get it compatible, there was always some small problem with the compiler or the source code (Amiga E is not being such defined standard). That is how I remember it. Since 2007 I have been travelling frequently and did not follow development so closely anymore. Shame because we were good team.
But most, if not all, replayers used PPC native decoder library so performance was rarely problem. Unlike in dynAMIte where code was heavily optimized with hand written assembly code.
