unexpected? i think it was rather obvious piece to pick up, so to say, from the dump, after countless threads, about how it got abused in an attempt to develop it further, from where it got abandoned. i think, whether there is practical demand to for this software or not, anything is better, than what happened to it up till now.

Those that are happy with the current version can just use that.

I dont like takeovers, the actual free versions of some of the rumored applications are ok as is for classics, the new updates are oriented to OS4 (without morphOS support), then from the point of view of amiga classics are not necessary.

Also it's slightly broken under OS4 on NG machines, you need the Masetrix to get it to work. Having AHI output even if they do nothing else, is pretty essential for a good user experience.

I wonder if they are developing the old v1 SoundStudio, or finishing v2?

Id' like to see A-Eon pick up TurboCalc and Photogenics (yeah, that's more gfx software - I love Photogenics but it's crashy, and I'm too lazy to learn to use something else again)

I still dont understand how making new versions of a program will hurt your or mine ability to use StudioSound on our A1200s for example.
If noone "took over" these programs they would stay dead/the same like they have been since the 90s. If thats all you need and want, then you just stick with the version you have now.

As for compiling for MorphOS and AROS, thats up to the people spending the money to deciding its worth the time and effort. I wouldnt feel entitled to demand AeonKit to spend more just for the hell of it. If they decide it makes sense to them, im sure most of us will be pleased.

As for Photogenics, Im sure Andy would say "Use Sketchblock!"

I loved TurboCalc, but if Libreoffice arrives eventually, that would remove the need for updating other Spreadsheet programs (for aos 4).
