Good you got it and RAM is okay. but bad AHI is crashing as that shouldn't happen. AHI locks out anything when a program uses the low level interface but I never saw why as it shares with the high level one. So if OWB does this other programs should be locked out but there should be no crash.
You can use the device.audio driver for sharing AHI at the loss of quality. Don't know if its included with AHI. But it shows up as "Unit 0" in the "Music unit" settings here.

if you have bought the correct memory modules (2GB) that is reported to work on this computer, but is not working you may want to try the memory modules in another computer & check the speed.
keep hold of any memory module(s) that is reported to work, it may have errors that may can be fixed.
