@tlosm

Okay got all files in place AFAICT. At first I was only getting AROS and a message about missing PPC ROM. Turned out it was using default config. I discovered F12 key and then wondered why it doesn't give you an option to load a config or set one?

In any case I find it pretty unstable. On every session it starts thinking. The early version crashed. The later one just stalls. I end up force quitting it.

I got to the ESS and disabled all ther LUNS. What a poor interface design! The emulation was fast for the boot GUI at least.

But this is where I get stuck. I haven't added a HDF yet, just want to boot the CD. So put the ISO in CDROMS and an OS4 boot floppy in Floppies and set it to boot. But it looks like it is doing is going into a constant reboot loop. Any idea?

@Hypex

do you use the default config I suggested to you in Document/Configuration dir ?

amiga_model = A4000/OS4
hard_drive_0_controller = ide0
hard_drive_0 = test.hdf
uae_a2065 = slirp
automatic_input_grab = 0
fullscreen = 0
slirp_implementations = qemu

The hdf is need to be copy in Hard Files dir.

Fs-Uae work exactly like the Classic and have the same problems:

About the continue reset probably you have the maprom ON in cyberstorm bios
it need to be put in OFF
Same as Ram to 70ns

for the cdrom : as the secondary device on internal ide
here all the info about :)

cdrom_drive_0 = path/to/cue_or_iso

http://fs-uae.net/options

You true ... without the Fs-Uae louncher is really hard made everything working i was become creazy for days for make the right configuration of it
Fs-Launcher work on linux ppc but not on OsX :( because osx have old qt libs

Okay, yes I had tried your default config. The result is the same. I get an AROS screen asking for a disk.

So I went back to the PPCDefault and continued to modify it by adding a HDF file and CDROM image. I checked and had maprom off and ram set to 70ns. But it continues to reset. I ejected the disk from within FS-UAE and it said I MUST put it back!

I am able to get to boot menu but when I tried to boot to shell it just kept rebooting. Perhaps the OS4 boot disk has issues. But it seemed to be crashing in boot-block or else very early.

I was able to compile the launcher from source code I downloaded or at least it looked like it. But I ended up with a python program that didn't work.

BTW, the program continues to think in a spinning rainbow and freezes the mouse. Yesterday it also corrupted the keyboard. I had to reboot. Are these issues known? And do they only affect OSX?

Aros disk !?!!?! it means you dont have kickstart roms installed in kickstart dir?
3.1 kickstart image for amiga 4000 is needed or you will not able to run amiga 4000 emulated hardware.

Freeze the mouse ????
is been set
automatic_input_grab = 0

... can you test open a terminal in the OsX and
write :

sudo nano "drag and drop the default.fsuae" (return)
check is the default config right formatted ? some times can be save as an rtf and not right read by fs-uae.
if you found some strange ascii codes inside the config delete this ascii and save the file with nano.

Yes I have ROMs. Otherwise I would have seen any start up menu with any config.

Quote:

I think you got it. Yes I did wonder if that was it. I hunted around my ROM files but I only have an /A1200 3.1 ROM. I also have an A4000D so perhaps I should just extract that one?

Or emulate a Blizzard. Much slower?

Quote:
Freeze the mouse ????

Yes, it looks like FS-UAE is crashing or has in the least locked up as I see the spinning rainbow, and the mouse is frozen or cursor rather as it won't move. I am able to press the hot-key for force quit and usually do.

Quote:
automatic_input_grab=0

I have it set as that.

Quote:
sudo nano "drag and drop the default.fsuae" (return)

First I got this error, corrected my mistake then a blank file opened up.

-bash: syntax error near unexpected token `('

Quote:

I checked and it's fine.

My almost working config is currently:

amiga_model = A4000/OS4
accuracy = 0
automatic_input_grab = 0
ntsc_mode = 0
fullscreen = 0
kickstarts_dir = ~/Documents/FS-UAE/Kickstarts/
kickstart_file =kick31.rom
chip_memory = 2048
bsdsocket_library = 1
hard_drive_0_controller = ide0
hard_drive_0 = OS4.hdf
cdrom_drive_0 = ClassicInstallCD-53.69.iso
uae_cpuboard_rom_file = cyberstormppc_44.71.rom
accellerator = CyberstormPPC
uae_cpuboard_type = CyberstormPPC
uae_cpuboardmem1_size = 128
uae_cpu_model = 68040
uae_fpu_model = 68040
graphics_card = picasso-iv
gfxcard_size = 4
floppy_drive_0_volume = 5
floppy_drive_0 = BootFloppy.adf
gfxcard_size = 64

@Hypex

if is your intention use os4 you will have to use exactly the config that i write before
just add the cdrom config and the bootfloppy

another thing if you set cyberstorm you need to use the amiga 4000 kickstart .
or you will have the same result as insert in a real amiga 4000 the kickstart of a1200.

The config you had been write will work with AmigaOs 3.9 and warpos and is need to set the
amiga as
amiga_model = A4000/PPC

yes the a1200 emulation is slow super slow and pretty buggy on osx (x86too)

ps: picasso iv with 64mb isnt emulated at hall ;)

I resume:

amiga_model = A4000/OS4
hard_drive_0_controller = ide0
hard_drive_0 = OS4.hdf
cdrom_drive_0 = ClassicInstallCD-53.69.iso
floppy_drive_0 = BootFloppy.adf
uae_a2065 = slirp
automatic_input_grab = 0
fullscreen = 0
slirp_implementations = qemu

I tried to set it to BlizzardPPC emulation but I kept getting a message about 24-bit addresses not being supported or something and when the floppy booted it stopped and said there is not enough memory to load the kernel. Nothing on it worked as no commands were executable so I gave up on that.

I saw that. I got it from a config here or on FS-UAE package. Removed it.

Thanks for the updated config. Here it boots into the AROS KS and loads up a shell window. After complaining the CyberPPC ROM is missing. I don't know what that means. Maybe it doesn't like my file names.

My list of ROMS
blizzardppc_040_44.71.rom
PIV_FLAS.BIN
cyberstormppc_44.71.rom
kick31.rom

Still need to extract an A4000 ROM.

Extract the 4000 roms and use it inserting inside the /Documents/FS-UAE/Kickstart and you will see no more aros roms will be loaded

Okay I now have an A4000 ROM in place. I had to specify the filename as well as the CyberPPC file as it couldn't find it on its own. Be good if I knew what files it was looking for. Suppose that info is around.

But it ends up in the same place. It boots into the floppy, no commands work, and it's looking for the OS4 CD. I can't tell but it looks like the CD drive and CD is missing from the IDE bus. What doesn't make sense is that it looks like it is booting the floppy but no commands work on it! Claims files are not executable. And since I can't Dir or List I can't tell what is going on! Argh!!

Think I will have to set it up with my current UAE WB HD. I'm close! Just missing something.

Also, I tried setting CDFS RDB scan for fun, but it just causes FS-UAE to "think" and I have to force quit it.

Quastion:
do you test before the Os3.9 with WarpOs just for see if the qemu-uae module is loaded?
dont belive in bios of cyberstorm because it is in uae core and not in the qemu core.

for make everything simple and faster i can suggest you to make the os 4 installation from a x86 machine and after use the hdf on OsX ppc side.

I haven't tested that no. I'm actually unable to. I tried to boot into OS3.9 with the PPC setup and found that FS-UAE crashes! I was almost there and now am stuck again!

Might need to create clean OS HDF.

use my config A4000/PPC for 3.9
remember to use the 4000 kickstart rom and the warpos install for cyberstorm and picasso.

On Quad G5 3.9 is really fast and enjoyable . tested many programs and work good and fast . Quake performance are like a 604e 233 mhz in fpu

It is simple benchmark, but OGRNG result scales well with integer performance.

Am using your simplified config but had to add Kickstart and CyberPPC ROM files as it couldn't see them. I specified a previous HDF with a UAE/68K working OS3.9 Workbench but FS-UAE doesn't like it. It just crashes. Given it does crash this really is a bug. Who should I submit it too?

OS4 has WB3.1 install included, be good if we had an easy way of making a HDF. Maybe we do but I don't know it.

Submit it on english amiga board , Frode will look at it.

I have a fsuae and Winuae bug on my Atom system .... look like the qemu uae dont like it.

umm aother think , some time to me fsuae become creazy it become because was need to fix the permissions on the OsX .
Open Hd Utils and do fix the system permissions.
or better download the last Onix for OSx Leopard and do a good cleaning of the system :) it help in opening the applications and make the system much more responsive.
