I think they will do it or they wouldnt have done the proof of concept. Im sure its not a priority though. Especially when u can get a regular cheap old mac ppc and run circles around most amiga ng alien hw. (peg2 included)

Even more PowerPC 64bit multi-core processor motherboards, just now two Amiga wanna-be fan-fiction OS running on it using only 32bit and one core?

Could be interesting to see if any of the OS manages to utilize the processor. AOS4 has spent more than four years and gotten literally nowhere, so maybe four more years? I'm not sure if it will happen in my lifetime at all.

From what I hear, it's not always that easy to get hold of PPC mac stuff, depending on what part of the world you live in.

Also, there are those who prefer new to used.
There is no PPC mac hardware that runs rings around the X1000 or X5000.

There are no plans to port MorphOS to the X1000 in the future.

Many people wanted new MorphOS hardware for a long time. With the Sam460(cr) and the X5000 (cyrus) we will be able to grand this wish.

The X1000 situation is the opposite. Most people won´t be able to obtain one, as stocks are already limited and a second hand market for this model is practically is not existing. Most current X1000 users are probably not even interested in MorphOS.

I am sure there are some x1000 users who wish to get MorphOS for that system, but from a effort/benefit point of view it simply makes no sense.

So? Can't they use Radeon X1950 on the PowerMac. Both the AGP and PCIe versions of X1950 is very much faster than 9250, or is it a driver problem?

I won't be buying an x5000 anytime soon so any comparison means nothing to me, only care what 'real' s/w I can run, not benchmarks.

CPU wise a similar clocked G5 will be faster than an X1000 or 5000 even before Altivec comes into play. A G4 will be little faster still but be brought down by slower RAM.
X1000 is stuck at 1.8GHz, the X5000 goes to 2GHz atm while the G5 goes up to 2,7GHz so yeah a used Mac can be significant faster than anything AEon.

GFX cards are an issue as all currently supported Mac either have those onboard or are limited to AGP, but those G5 also exist with PCIe and will take any given card that can be used in the Xx000 even without an supported BIOS.
