Please note that BattleSquadron is no Cherry-Darling game. If it's sold out everywhere then try to contact Cope-Com or Seal-Of-Action Publishing directly. Anyway, to me it looks like Amedia for example still has it on stock.

It doesn't appear to be in stock there anymore. At least it won't add to my cart anyway.

Maybe AmigaKit should do a deal with Cope-Com to get some more copies made or add it to Amistore.

Looks like you missed the Amiga Future's issue 113 because there H2o explained how he came up with that name

@Rob
Torben from Cope-Com is planning to relaunch BattleSquadron sales soon. He just asked me to prepare a fresh ISO containing the latest builds.

Thanks! There's no plan to release Wings Battlefield for Android or whatever btw. This time it's exclusive to (NG-)Amigas (well, plus that "convenience"-Windows version we added, but that's supposed to be used for LAN sessions in case you run out of Amiga systems )

@saimon69
Regarding innovation:
AceOfHearts and VoxelNoid contained some more or less innovative game elements / mixtures of game elements. This time it was about a more technical innovation since our primary goal was to deliver real 3D for Amigas without 3D drivers.

Your idea to use the Amiga platform for first release and later publish it for Android etc. in a more polished version is not that good IMHO. If anything then it would probably be better to do it the other way around because we like to do CD releases whenever possible. I'd rather do a CD production cycle only if I'm pretty sure that it's well polished already (even if the game contains an update mechanism). Updating an Android app is much less of a problem. But you should not release total alpha stuff there neither since that might kill your reputation.

So all in all: better don't (ab)use any platform / userbase for alpha-testing Unless it's for free and declared accordingly.

This time we published the free demo versions some weeks before the CD production started. Primarily to gather feedback. Some people gave feedback and therefore some additional things based on that made it into the release version. I guess that's a good way to do it.

Anyway: we're a small team with only that much time, working with no big expectations regarding revenue. Therefore we can only add that many features to a game. At some point it's game-over. With Wings Battlefield that point was long long ago overrun already. Taking that into account I'd say it's innovative enough

That's great news.

Do you have any plans to re-use the Wings Battlefield engine in other games or is it too early to say at the moment?

Believe me, you'll want to stick to that philosophy even if you grow big feature creep is deadly to any project.

Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.

Thanks

@olegil
Indeed!

@all
From what it looks now I'll add WAN support. You'll automatically receive an update when it's done.

Also note that the game runs on classic hardware indeed
On the Amiga 30 event in Amsterdam Hyperion showed the game running on an A1200 PPC with a Radeon 9200, reaching 10-15 fps (640x480x16, 16bit textures, about 40% terrain quality, medium texture quality, no grass, full trail; only single player vs. 2 or 3 CPUs and LAN tested), so it was actually playable "okay" at pretty decent visual quality, performance felt comparable to Cinemaware's Wings on a bare A500

Since the main bottleneck is the CPU on such a machine it could most likely reach > = 20 fps on an A4000 PPC Radeon setup. Can somebody here try it out?
