When AB3D (the first, not TKG) was released gfx-cards wasn't very common IIRC and it ran fine on pretty low-spec anyway. Played it on my a4k with the standard 030 25MHz.
I agree with everything else you wrote |

| I have been away from the Amiga scene for 4-5 years. I miss my XE and need to find someone in Toronto or Montreal that can fix it. Any suggestions for repairs? JP

As soon as I saw your avatar, I thought there's someone who hasn't been here for a while. Welcome back.
When did your XE last work? Maybe the old trick of swapping the battery will work.

I had it repaired by Steve Solie maybe 3-4 years ago. I had to ship it to Alberta from Ontario. It worked fine for 6 months and then died. I figure all the jostling loosened a chip. I would really like to drive it myself to and back from the repair. I miss it so much there is just something to the feel. No I don't think it is the battery. If someone could suggest someone in the Toronto or Montreal area that would be great. Thanks, JP Last edited by cope on 17-Nov-2015 at 02:08 AM.

There was an AB3D demo in 1995. So right at the tail end of Commodore-Amiga. And only high spec maxhines would have one. Of course AB3D did use that copper trick to do a chunky screen.
I just tested the demo and I was surprised it was too slow to play. Not like a bare A1200 even!
I'll try it with JIT now. |

I gotta ask... how the hell did you get MorphOS working on the PowerMac? When I tried it just blew me about 10 raspberries... that's the polite way otr putting it anyway _________________ You can get more done with a kind word and a 2x4 than you can with just a kind word |

Forget getting it to run at acceptable speed without JIT-emulation . On my machine it isn't enough with JIT even. It's offcourse much faster than without but not enough. |

Yeah I tried JIT. Not much better. I couldn't seem to shoot. Perhaps the Mac version will be faster.
I also tried the AB3D RTG patch on Aminet. The panel is missing but it runs slighly faster. |
