Its not breaking the 1 GHz barrier?

The need for a proper expansion bus (as Zorro sucks, and PCI is dated)?

How about not having SATA support?

It doesn't cost $3.50?

I can't run my PPC code with it.

AH...I'll no doubt buy one eventually, and the applications of the Apollo core outside of Vampire intrigue me.

BUT...don't EVER think there's a limit to our ability to complain.

How about but ARM is better, or x64

My apologies, there is always room for complaining.
Another bandwagon I should jump on to.

Got on the backorder list for that second batch for Amiga-Kit. Looks like the second small batch arrival date slip to July 7.

Hopefully they get that batch and I am high enough on the backorder list. Not sure if they are only taking orders for what they know is coming in.

Wonder if Amiga-Kit is going to put together a CF card with IDE adapter package for the Amiga 2000/500.

How DID I miss that one, considering it was a debate with MorphOS users for some time (not the validity of the argument, just which direction to move toward).

SURE, our motto should be changed to a John Cleese/Monty Python quote, "You came here for an argument...".

I've even found myself in conflicts with friends recently, but it all evens out eventually, we get over it and get back to the discussion (eventually).

@smartroad

How many users are waiting for the A1200 Vampire accelerator, and how many owners of the Vampire600 v2 or Vampire500 v2, will also buy a Vampire1200? Since the Vampire500 & 600 already provide AGA, some people think that the Vampire1200 model is not needed (but that is silly of course, as many users only have their A1200 and have sold, or given away, or never had, an A500, or A600).

@BoingBear

The board for the A1200 is also expected to be an improvement over the V600 and V500 V2 boards. It's likely to have a Cyclone V FPGA, more RAM and other features also found on the standalone board (USB?)

@IanP

I am curious if and eventually how the current vampire cards will be supported once the much more powerful V1200 comes around.

If the V1200 uses a uses a faster FPGA the V500 and V600 will still be the same speed they currently are. If the V1200 has a larger number of cells and the feature set of the Apollo core ends up exceedsing the capacity of the V500 and V600 they'll simply not get those features.

@Rob,

I would wait for a Vampire that has 1Gig of ram and has 256Meg SAGA with all the features including FPU, MMU and fetch for everything for my A2000.

I see Trevor is interested in making s/w for vampire.

towards end of interview

That might require taking over/assisting production if the above postings mean anything.
