I have recently released the RC4-2 because of the problems with Radeon firmwares. I removed firmwares for SI and newer graphics cards with the old format (upper case names). Many thanks to Mechanic and Spectre660 for the hints and explanations about the difference between the old and new Radeon firmwares.

Just out of interest is a green side panel and lacking other colours like red when moving window an old kernel problem? Because right now I have that. I just found a kernel in my backups that has worked. I had to format my FAT boot drive five times or more and test copying a kernel to it before I found one that worked! My Linux boot drive broke months ago and I only just got it booting again. Which is why I am hesitant to upgrade but I do want to.

Be good to boot my MoL A1 install and put it to good use. Could use my X1000 to compile OSX software lol.

If I understand it correctly then you have seen wrong colors on your desktop with the RC5 of kernel 4.5. Which desktop do you use? Which graphics card is installed in your A1-X1000?

Sounds like you have a good memory. I'll confirm that later. I use the standard Unity desktop of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. And have a HD4890 card. I've only noticed it since I got it working again. I thought it may have been a cable but I got the same result from both VGA and DVI on diferent monitors.
