Back at Amiwest 2015, A-EON announced the formation of the AmigaDeveloper.com programme to promote increased paid development in AmigaOS applications, utilities, drivers and libraries.

Since then, the work has been steadfastly ongoing by the developers that signed up to help.

We are very grateful for their contribution and dedication and as a result over 2000+ commits have been made to the AmigaDeveloper.com SVN in this short time. Some great new software has been created as a result from that huge effort.

Shortly, the first results of this work will be released in the form of the Enhancer Software for OS4. Wherever practical, the software created is co-authored in tandem on OS3 so two branches are maintained.

Apart from the developers, special mention should be made to the small team of beta testers and graphics/artwork gurus who have also helped make this project possible.

I will give you a small sneak peak of the InfoWindow.class, developed by one of the talented devs, which is used extensively on all applications in the Enhancer Software.

@amigakit

Great news

Since Ive ordered a Vampire, the 3.x AmiStoreversion seems to be within reach performance wise.

I seem to remember that you mention it running on your 68060 machine, but it was semi slow. Basically not really usable for slower machines.
With the Vampire hitting 125 mips, and good graphical performance, Im curious if AmiStore 3.x is in the pipeline? (if its already available, please ignore me )

Yes I think that the potential new hardware speed for Classic systems is important as it unlocks a lot of new potential for cross developing between OS3 and OS4.

OS3 platform has had such little development investment into it for so long in terms of classes, drivers, libraries, that it needs extra time to bridge the gap.

As part of the many hours of development of the Enhancer Software, we have updated Ringhio Notifications. If you recall, Ringhio was left without any major development for many years, but since acquiring it, the AmigaDeveloper Team has updated it a dozen times already.

The latest update of Ringhio Notifications, by AmigaDeveloper.com Team member, zzd10h has added ColourWheel support- following on from previous great work by another AmigaDeveloper.com Team member, rwo.

Here is a sneak preview of the new update 53.46, which is found on the forthcoming Enhancer Software:

In addition to ColourWheel support, Ringhio Notifications has been brought up to Final Edition specifications with AISS NewMenus, Hint popups, window snapshotting and we have added support for our new gadget classes such as InfoWindow class.

@wawa

The colourwheel is just one of many updates that have been made to Ringhio Notifications. When A-EON took over development of it, the version was v53.28, it is now v53.46 with many changes such as sound support and 4.1 Final Edition feature support.

It will be part of the Enhancer Software package so I hope many users will be pleased with the updates.

@amigakit

will there be a table what improvements are done for 3.X and which for 4.X so people can decide themselves?

as olaf says a public changelog would be a reasonable reference, because a bumped version number doesnt tell much about the functionality the customer is buying.

@OlafS25

The idea is to concurrently run development at the same level for OS3 and OS4 to keep them with the same feature set (as far as practicable).

One roadblock at the moment is we need a mini application.library for Ringhio OS3 version. So if any OS3 developers our there want to help implement this, please get in contact with me ASAP.

Great news. Good to see such positive progress. Looking forward for a chance to buy the updates soon and invest in the platform.

OS4 has a ColourWheel!? I never knew this! The system doesn't use it. Well Prefs doesn't when I open Palette.

if it doesnt it would at least explain the additional effort to implement it here. but as far as i remember even class act had an appropriate class, definitely aros has an own one.
