@thread

It actually takes more than developers to make code. When I was in college, I joined a game making club. All the members who showed up to the meeting were programmers and no artists. We couldn't do a simple game without ripping graphics or violating the terms of a license agreement for a game editor.

To put this back on topic: Learn a skill. Art is good. Sound tech is good too. Programming and scripting are the glue that tie it together but since code is the most reusable component, artists and sound techs are more important in the long run. The more advanced the graphics need to be, the more expensive the game has to be to offset it. That's why NG Amigas are not profitable at running modern games and Classics are more profitable. You can use cheaper art on a classic and nobody will know the difference!

@Samurai_Crow

I do not agree with that; there are many PC games that restrict the low resolution to make it look retro.
The graphic itself can be all computer coded, all vectors, graphics does need to be pixel art, the only thing that is a invaluable is music artist, anyone can do some kind of graphics.

Sure it helps to know some who knows how to use Maya and that happens to won't make games. but in the and of the day it hours you put in, to your work.

And there is a lot more to a game then graphics and music, you need interesting AI, this has to be scripted.

Unless you like to make boring Mario / Gina sisters clone that is.

@Massi

In the Amiga scene it's best to enjoy what you do the most. When you release your first demo remind me to check it out. It should run nicely on my Minimig.
