Graphic artist needed

Hello,

I would like to get in touch with a graphic artist to start a duo team, where I am the programmer.

My current project is a demo for the demo scene where the target is Commodore Amiga 500 with OCS chipset.

A knowledge of the Amiga graphics and related tools is certainly welcome.

It is not a paid work but such projects can give a very good return in terms of visibility and resume.

Those interested can email me mscarano @ libero . it

THANKS

My goal is to find a RELIABLE partner for a number of projects.

The main focus is on "old-school" 2D pixel art.

No one needs a new challenge?

For those interested I can showcase a concept for my current demo project.

@Massi

Just an idea. Maybe you can create both a demo and a game. This way you could create a commercial game and have some reward.
Look at the Dungeon Crawler thread. This is the way to go, IMO.

Unfortunately the time when the Commodore Amiga was a profitable system is gone.

@Massi

EntwicklerX, Cinemaware, Cope-Com, Hyperion

I didn't say you will be rich but it helps to find motivated people and judging by the answers you received in this thread, you should give some thought to my advice.

@elwood

The Amiga (all its forms) is not a profitable system anymore, I am pretty sure those names have to refer to other markets as well to be able to survive.

I only program for my interest and passion, that is why I think I found my way within the demo scene.
I actually got few but very interesting contacts from the various sites where my ad is spread.

It's true what Massi says, you can't make a lot of money on AmigaOS, but making some money is better than making no money. For me It's a challenge for me to make software people are willing to spend money on. And way spend time make software no one will use?

It's easy to like something, but to back up your support with hard cash shows its really worth doing.

@NutsAboutAmiga

On FFmpeg page, you can read "Many ASM optimizations" in the february release.
Maybe you could do the same optimization on the PPC code and "sell" that work.

@NutsAboutAmiga

it is completely unrealistic to earn money except the tries of a-eon (that are very expensive because of low number of sales). You need something that is cross-platform so that you earn money on android or iOS or in browser games and support amiga platforms additionally. Hollywood is nearest there but still missing some relevant platforms and is not good enough supporting game programming if you compare it to modern development environments on windows.

To me minimum requirement is modern browser including full HTML5 support and WebGL

@OlafS25

No, that has nothing to do with the demo scene.
The demo scene means skills and talents ... in just one word ART.

That is more a resource for "dummies" ... how to become a game programmer without any knowledge of programming

@Massi

dummies make more money than demo coders propably

I did not talk about the program but the resources you can buy

the problem is most of the community is just "talking" so I am not sure if you will find what you are searching for

You don't need to be good at coding to compile FFMPEG, sure it made some changes to code enable 64bit seek in FFMPEG, but I think you can do that by defining some platform files.

Don't wont do what did last year this year :o)

I have a better idea ask Ole-Egil, I know he knows PowerPC assembler it was the first thing he talked, when I met him for the first time. I consider myself a noob when comes to PowerPC assembler. Even a noob can do some things, but I'm not fast, I'm not cost efficient. I spend more time looking up documentation.

There must be better assembler coders then me, or this platform is in real trouble.

I think most of code that can be optimized is optimized already, I there little I can do to improve the code. All you really need to do enable optimization and pray there are no green gfx bugs in optimized code.

Last year I was not responsible for optimizing code, it was him from Greece that promised to do that. I was only going to integrate his work into mplayer and add stuff (menus, d&d, menus, and stuff like that.)

Just talking about earned enough to pay for your own beer, not paying for your own house.

Exactly, these guys here don' t even know what they are talking about.

Then I continue to see comments like for example "... we do need developers ...", but no one wants to support with money these developers!

The old story, that is why I doing something else.
