@fishy_fis

Well perhaps I am picky. But I expect a 30 year old music medium to be inferior to a modern medium, not the opposite. And I like the data to be exactly retained whatever format it is stored in. When I was young, compression meant that you got out exactly what you put in. I never understood how they came up with this lossy compression on a computer, for if you applied it to a computer program the computer would crash as computers are exact.

I think it's more convenience than anything. Even people from our time are getting into it. Where as once it was seen as easy enough to put six CDs in car boot CD stacker. Or swap six CDs as you go along on your road trip. (Like I did recently.) Now people just want to stick a USB stick in the internal car stereo and play on their way. For one example. And WAV is out of fashion.

But what suprised me recently was seeing young people hook a laptop to a guitar amp. Because it was mono. I would have rejected that when I was 15! But I guess standards are lower and now young people are happy with just the simple basic things in life. Like a C64.

Hahaha!

Oh the irony of posting this on an Amiga forum :D

Even more so because it demonstrates how things actually happen when the will and initiative is there.
