https://sakura-it.pl/index.php

The guys seem to have their hands in a lot of projects right now.

Glad to see someone give a go at making a new WarpOS wrapper. Hopefully it will work well on Sam460 and X1000.

Actually, the author of this project is Dennis van der Boon (who's also behind SonnetAmiga, as wawa mentioned), full credit should go to him. I am merely helping Dennis with menial tasks.

Also, the whole point is making it work with e500/e5500/4x0 CPUs .

@klx300r

ReWarp is a library for AmigaOS 4 that will allow running unmodified WarpOS binaries on OS4. Including on newer PowerPC architectures that weren't supported by WarpOSemu (Sam440/460, X5000, etc.).

I wonder if Fusion/PPC works?

When I first saw the title I thought it was a new Warp3d clone layer. 3d gets so much attention these days when you stick a Warp into it.

Problematic it was working only on CybervisonPPC, on other video boards only black screen

It does not work now, and it's unlikely it will ever work - it uses a lot of MMU / exception tricks. But most other, more system friendly software can be made to work (games too).

FusionPPC needed a special beta-version of WarpUP so it needs to cover the changes in that first of all, but then again it might be more to it since it only worked on CSPPC and not Blizzards...

@tlosm

I have never seen Sheepshaver running on any of the NG-OS'es. I assume that something is missing that is required for a straight port of it otherwise I see no reason why it wasn't ported ages ago.

... and to be frank... why would anyone go beyond 8.x on MacOS (pre OSX anyway) ? =)
It's so much slower than earlier releases and give little gain. Baslilisk II is ported to all platforms and cover the most stuff that was good on the old days of mac.

I like MacOS 8/9 UI and some newer games work on such setup (eg. Diablo I/II).

@pavlor

Playing with IFusion many years ago, we managed to get it working, but "CDROM" support was limited, to only ISO files, not real physical CDROMS.

So we head to copy the CD content to a HD ISO, dismount, and boot from that ISO file I believe we did. or maybe we used CDROM burn software, don't remember. IFusion was disappointing slow, I remember.

Yes, we need to virtualize the memory, so the two operating systems can co-exist, basically move MacOSX + X bytes into a safe address space.

A minimum CPU emulator some thing like a JIT compiler maybe, something that only emulates read and writes to memory, and ignore the rest. (and recalculates the jumps.)
