Huno tests his games on a Sam460 and an X1000 (and we test them on other systems), we never encounter this no sound trouble. Wierd.

I have it only with games like smokin guns games like hurricanmetal slug 1941 deluxe works fine. Only games based on quake engine have no sound.
And thats wierd because all quake game running fine here

U have tried to change the config file sound setting from 22 khz to 44 wich helped with quake 1 and 2 and 3 starwars games also.
But games like smoking guns no sound and urban terror also no sound.

I don't know how you got it to work. That Smokin' Guns is huge. So I installed it but I just think it's buggy. I must have loaded it up five times and only got to the game screen once. But it always freezes my A1-XE machine. When it was playing the speed was dog slow like Quake on an A1200. And the sound stuttered. I can only conclude it to be pointless. Which is a shame. As it looked good.

Needs a huge config (256MB Video Ram and at least 1GB RAM).

There seems to be an issue with at least the two games mentioned and Sam460's.
Sound from other games work with his card so there is no problem with his card.
Notice no one has so far said that they have sound working with these two games and a
Sam460 with any soundcard.

By the way the sound card that he has is a card used by professional musicians so I would not call it overpriced just high end .

That's more than the read me says. I have half of one and twice the other. I got 128MB VRAM and 2GB fast RAM.

the card works fine only some ports from huno doesnt give any sound even on the onboard sm502 chip no sound.

and heretic 2 from hyperion has no sound why dont know.

You seem to think I don't know what ESI cards are.
Whether you aware of it or not, ESI used to make an Envy24 based card.
Further, for the components included in the julia, it is a drastically overpriced piece of hardware AND it is in no way appropriate for a low end system like a SAM460.

BTW - Stop talking down to me.
You may be our Linux guru (and I DO acknowledge that you're pretty damned good), but I was using multi-tasking, multi-user process control OS' when Linux was in its infancy (and wasn't really worth using).

What about matching your config? 22.05 or 44.1. Or use 48 and set that in AHI. Unless you are just abbreviating here.

I always had my ahi config on 44.1 khz set and tried 48 and 32 lower the nevy doesnt give sound in the test button in ahi prefs. Also 32 or 15 bit all kind of variations tried.

There must be something wrong with the driver then. It should be able to play the whole frequency range in AHI Prefs. And all modes should work.

I notice the testing sound, which sounds like the hearing test I got at school, is a bit unprofessional with an audable click on the end. Also, it sounds more clear in mono than stereo which was flat, epsecially the high modes. I've only an SB-EMU10K.

I know it's a pain, but do you have another sound card to test? A simpler one perhaps.

No i dont have any pcie 1x cards only old sb vard pci and i dont have any pci slots over ghe one i use is my sata card wich i use for booting etc
