Good evening/night/morning!

With this poll I'm just checking where "sort of" the interest is, since I managed to start on a bunch of project again, maybe too much. I got a lot more than these 7 here in the pipeline, but I throw these 7 generic descriptions out here in the poll.

Sorry, the Pancakes option didn't fit, no more options left

In what new/updated software would you be most interested in? (multi option poll)

* ShowFiles, a DIR Shell/CLI command (next release) FREE
* Preferences program (next release) FREE
* A "type of" Text Viewer (first Preview/Alpha/Beta) FREE
* A "type of" Gfx editor (first Preview/Alpha/Beta) COMMERCIAL
* Another Image Viewer (first Preview/Alpha/Beta) FREE
* Demo/Intro/scene-prod (AOS3, possibly AOS4/MOS/AROS/Win...) FREE
* A "special" (secret for now) tool for WebBrowsers (AOS4/MOS/AROS, first Preview/Alpha/Beta) FREE
* Pancakes (no options left in poll sorry )

(Note: I don't promise all of these will see the light, but more or less some, maybe almost all...)
(Note: All software mainly for AOS4, possibly for MOS or AROS too...)

@marko

I am not using 4.X anyway but just a short tip...

your description is a little too short. What are the advantage of your commercial/free tools when they are completed compare to existing software?

Except your "secret browser tool" everything exists already, at least on 68k. In many cases even multiple times so if you want people to become interested (what is obvious your goal) then you must offer some more informations

my 2 cents

Yeah a secret net browser would be good. (Reading wrong in purpose)

Nothing else for now.

@marko

There are many gfx editors and viewers, but if you make one better than one you can already find of Aminet or OS4Depot, then I'm interested, in that.

A special tool for web browsers, I don't know, better this things are integrated part of the web browser, but I have no clue what you're thinking about, so its surplice factor that makes it interesting I guess.

I'll like a web tool like java or flash support for example to play to flash games with the Amiga browsers or HTML5 support too.

Surely MultiViewer is a text and picture viewer (with Thumbnail support) plus lots more

I'm hoping "A type of Text Viewer" could be a replacement for the 68k but awesome TextView (sadly versions after 1.13 were heavily crippled in the name of Shareware). It had the fantastic ability to load multiple files, and then switch between them by just pressing a number key (remembering where you were scrolled in each), which makes comparing two (or more) text files really easy. It can also hide or remove HTML & AmigaGuide tags, which is sometimes useful.

Where are mediaplayers in your poll? Is that an unknown kind of software?

You misunderstood. That is a list of programs that he is working on!

P.S. It seems your grasp of English is quit bad (unfortunately for your Endian bounty).

@thread

Thanks all for the input

It was pretty much as I expected with a few exceptions (the Gfx editor). So, I will continue hammering on my projects like I was doing but with a few adjustments...

A "very" rough timeline follows (no promises, though):

* ShowFiles (sf) - Update coming in due time, a year or so maybe.
* Preferences program - Update coming soon.
* A "type of" Text Viewer - Put on ice for now.
* A "type of" Gfx editor - This is mammoth program considered I'm doing this on my spare time, so MAYBE in a couple of years
* Another Image Viewer - Not that prioritized but I might hammer on this once in a while for my own amusement
* Demo/Intro/scene-prod - In due time.
* A "special" (secret for now) tool for WebBrowsers - Soon hopefully, if all goes well.

Thanks again!

Java or Flash would be nice to have, but it won't come from me, if ever for Amiga.

The "special" tool for WebBrowsers is not that special actually. It's just a "small" tool, but I have not coded enough on it yet to release more details. It will come more clear what it is once I made some more progress on it (if all goes well).

Back to hammering, later guys!

Flash. Flash?! Whole world is trying to kill it, Apple already did, Chrome and Firefox will follow soon and people livin' in retro Amiga land keep asking for it...

@ExiE

There are still plenty of sites relying on Flash!

Like for example Popcorntv.it for free legal movie streaming italian site that rely on flash anim file format and it loads mandatory flash player made itself in Flash to avoid pirates to rip the video streaming, or japanese site Daisuki.net for legal anime streaming directly maintained by anime makers firms (Now Daisuki it requires an App tough).

Famous Japanese site NicoNico Douga for amateurs made anime and 3D, works with flash, and so it does many advertising links hosted on art site Pixiv.net.

Original animations made by artist Weebl like "Badger badger", "Magical Trevor", or "Narvhals" require Flash to be seen in their endless infinite play original beauty, and these are very famous memes of internet, we can only access in a very poor limited version from Youtube that stops in the end without the strain endless effect.

Yes. As you can see mainly japanese sites are still very Flash addicted.

I found many Amiga made videos on NicoNico Douga worth to see, like a 3D animation I mentioned in a previous thread of mine, or three different interviews to Susumu Hiraswa talking of Amiga.

http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=41255&forum=2

It is a pity and a lack, if we Amigans cannot access all this data just because someone in Amigaland decided porting newer flash player is not worth the effort, declaring unilaterally Flash as dead, despite the fact it is still widely used for some purposes.

Flash is like the Amiga. Everybody saying it is obsolete and dead, and trying to kill it in favour of other standards, and still it continues to live despite of its limitations.

I'd like a gfx editor that can handle multiple 24/32-bit images at once (loaded into clipboard or layers) so once can make a collage, or composite image of photos. People say it can be done with PerfectPaint, but I never figured out how. PPaint does it just that way I want to, but only 256 colors, so useless for photos.

if A "special" (secret for now) tool for WebBrowsers (first Preview/Alpha/Beta)

means a port of (moonlight) linux version of Silverlight is what you are doing then I am all for it cause then I can watch Netflix on my AmigaOS4.1 machine.

And if Silverlight could mbe machine agnostic, then it could. easily ported in MorphOS camp too...
