@marko

Seems quite likely you might hear something about this then.
With the coming holidays it would be good timing.

@Tuxedo

Anyone else get an email like this today?

Quote:
Hello I would like to thank you for registering your interest in purchasing the new AmigaOne X5000 motherboard or complete system. We have now added you to this mailing list, along with other USA customers, if you wish to unsubscribe then send an email to usa-sales-unsubscribe@a-eon.biz The purpose of this mailing list is to keep you informed of the very latest AmigaOne X5000 product news and introduce you to the official A-EON resellers serving your region. The official reseller will be able to guide you through the X5000 options, explain the features and take your order. If you require an after-sales help and support, they are there to assist you. You will receive an introductory email from the reseller shortly. Best regards, Matthew Leaman Managing Director A-EON Technology Ltd.

Maybe the X5000 will be available soon! The 64 thousand dollar question as they say is what will the cost be?

No, the message I received read like this:

Quote:
Thank you for registering to purchase an AmigaOne X5000 when they are available. Your details are now recorded, and we will make contact when we have news of the next available batch. If you want to be removed from the list, please contact us as soon as possible. A-EON Technology Ltd (www.a-eon.com)

@Beans

that sounds like they have more interest than they have boards for the first batch. just a guess, though. hopefully amiwest will reveal more.

I saw a X5000 at Trevor Dickinson's house and another X5000 at this month's Sydney Amiga User Group meeting.

As I have wrote in a couple of threads i share your thoughts. Right now I am waiting for AmiWest 2016 if nothing of value is revealed there I am ending my venture into the AmigaNG world and I will ony concentrate on Classic.

edit: typos (written from a mobile phone)

@Tuxedo

As Tabor was announced a lot later than X5000 I would ecpect it to be released later too.

@wisementrading.com

Yes, they both are. So are all the other X5000s owned by OS4 betatesters.

@wisementrading.com

It's funny about a word like "shortly". It generally means around a week or two. In Amigaland it can mean a year.

@PhantomInterrogative

The cost is £1699 inc VAT for a complete system or at least that was the price on the back of the advert of Amiga Future a few issues back.

so that would be USD2,208 dollars at today's exchange rate and you have Brexit to thank for the price being a lot cheaper than normal for you people over in the States.....

Very interesting. What percent is the VAT? I used to know, but can't remember now.
