Indeed, just checking before devs:Monitors/PicassoIV file, and it ELF, while kickstart:PicassoIV.card are still 68 hunk ..

I mean whole gfx redraw operations, not video playback, which expected to be slow. I.e. on peg2 , moving of scrollbars are fast-fast (reactive fast), on emulator its visibly slower. Moving of the windowses also not very fast. I.e. usable, but not fluid.Last edited by kas1e on 01-Jan-2017 at 05:40 PM.

I hope it takes forever as I hope the next "update" is AmigaOS 4.2. |

I think it was foolish, or stupid, to name any release of software "Final Edition", but specially when it is an OS that is supposedly still under development. How many updates will AmigaOS4.1FE get, before AmigaOS4.2 is ready for release? Since we have no news regarding how far along 4.2 is, or what is being worked on at this moment in time, it could be zero more updates before 4.2 is released, or it could be 20, 50, 100, updates to the 4.1Final Edition, before 4.2 is released.
Has Hyperion Entertainment even confirmed the list of features that 4.2 will contain recently, or will they stick to their proposed list of features for 4.2, that was made years ago?
Sure would be nice for us users if Hyperion Entertainment would start off this new year by changing their ways, and giving the users some information about the OS we are expecting and waiting to be released, for years. I am not asking for specific release dates, as we all know that coding is not a precise science where completion can be accurately determined ahead of time, but some general information, like re-confirming what 4.2 will contain, and what work still remains to be done to complete it, would be a nice gift to the community that has supported Hyperion Entertainment blindly for many years. |

@broadblues I tracked down the changed component that is causing the 'timer flood'. If I replace the OS4.1FEupdate1 graphics.library with the previous (OS4.1FE) graphics.library, the 'timer flood' doesn't occur. Without a debug version of graphics.library I can't tell what changes might be causing the 'timer flood'. If you have any idea what changes to graphics.library may have caused the problem, I'd be interrested to know.

I did some testing yesterday and came to the conclusion that it was gfx library related (and been present in the post FE beta so long that I got used to it and didn't realise it was a new thing)
It doesn't occur on my SAM, so I strongly supsect it's not abug but the solution the x1000 DMA related bugs fixed with this update (or a sidfe effect of it), though that is speculation to an extent as I don't ave access to that level of detail on the fixes in place.
The tiny amount of "wasted" CPU is probably speeding up your machine considerably so don't go panicing and reverting the library because of abit of noise in snoopy.....
[edit] I see a note of the hyperion forums to say it's fixed. But the above still aplies IMHO

Since waiting for another update (if it ever happens) could take long, could we get the fixed version through AmiUpdate, please?_________________ RETREAM - retro dreams for Amiga, Commodore 64 and PC |

"No error when launching from xdock."
Ah yes, you are right, by changing "Started by WB" to "Started by CLI" for SMTube in X-Dock, hide the problem. Last edited by zzd10h on 02-Jan-2017 at 03:24 PM.

| Installed AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition Update 1 on my MicroA1. No problems with download or install. Origyn Web Browser 3.31 is a tiny bit slower than before but works ok. Odyssey Web Browser 1.16 initializing fonts each time I launch the program, but otherwise works fine.

I noted the same thing on my sam460, now the mouse pointer works well as before the final update, it was very annoying for me, I couldn't think that a system like amigaos could have this behaviour, now it's fluid must be as, we wait too much time for important update like that, it's better to release little updates via amiupdate instead wait so long time for a big one. Hyperion and members please keep it in mind, thanks.

wasn't partition wizard supposed to be fixed with this update? It still doesn't recognize partitions... unless I'm missing something. |
You're missing the updated Partition Wizard from A-Eon's Enhancer CD.
The only way to use the older Partition Wizard is to boot an older version of 4.1, Update 6 might be old enough.Last edited by AlexC on 03-Jan-2017 at 04:18 AM.

Z3 RAM support as regular RAM! ...

Where did you get this from?
It is not mentioned that AOS 4.1 Final supports "ZorRAM 128MB or 256MB Zorro 3 Memory card" as regular RAM at the link given in posting#1 and also not at Classic Amiga PPC Equipped Models.
All that's mentioned at Classic Amiga PPC Equipped Models is that "AmigaOS supports most of the available hardware like the IDE/SCSI hard disk, ... ZorRAM 128MB or 256MB Zorro 3 Memory card, ...".
No talk about 'AOS 4.1 final for classics' supporting Z3 RAM as regular RAM... All I found with regard to this so far was that the ZorRAM Z3 memory cards can be used as swap memory in OS 4.x...
But wait - I just saw that at amigakit.com they say: "Board plugs into any free Zorro III expansion slot and auto-configures the memory for use as Fast Memory. Compatible with AmigaOS 2.0, ... and the new AmigaOS 4.1 Classic."
So it really seems you are right with that - just that this seems to be a ZorRAM-feature rather than an OS-feature...
But another thing at Classic Amiga PPC Equipped Models irritates me. It is in the "Specifications:"-section on the right: "... Memory Expansions
ZorRAM 128MB or 256MB (Amiga 3000(T) or Amiga 4000(T) only) DKB 3128 Zorro Memory Card (Amiga 3000(T) or Amiga 4000(T) only) ..."
Does that mean it ONLY works in in the "T" versions of the Amiga 3000/4000 or does it mean it works in Amiga 3000/4000 AND in Amiga 3000T/4000T? _________________ Ciao
