Sub-contrator, or contractor? Who do they sub-contract out to? A-EON?

That's possible. A-EON funds the OS development to support their hardware by paying Hyperion, Hyperion earns additional revenue through separate OS sales, Hyperion pays the programmers to work on the OS. Or are most of the programmers volunteer?

Based on the activity flow, I suspect that Hyperion subsists on A-EON subsidies.

Choose your term but by any stretch it appears to add up to inertia.

Probably not. The C code probably just requires some more horsepower than the code the legacy software was built on.
It ought to be possible to back port it to something more capable like the Vampire OR to something X64 based.

I would imagine that the PPC migration process was motivated largely by the 68k hitting EOL and performance requirements?

If so, did the refactoring process strive to make the OS processor agnostic?

Unsolved mysteries.

It just prevent someone else from using the name Amiga Technologies ...

To be honest, there was zero to no chance for Apollo / Vampire using the brand name Amiga, so there should not be any change in theirs plans.

I believe this link was added. I'm sure someone can confirm or deny that.
If so, you can incorporate what it says into your speculations.

Just a guess, but perhaps Matthew is just starting up another company to take over the management of the A-Eon software development/sales.

Quote:
My thoughts exactly. AmigaKit is a computer reseller so perhaps Matthew wanted to put their SW/HW development activities under a separate business entity.

I realize their website still says:
Quote:
Amiga Technology is a British software development company.

But the business links in this thread say:
Quote:
Nature of business (SIC)
47410 - Retail sale of computers
etc.

This is a very funny hobbie.

In work I usually call and make all clear.

In The AmyLand it would be more than preferable to inform us what is happening.

A few guys are interested but how long?

no, it's not just you. however the DNS records haven't been updated, and the registration is still valid. could be an oversight, could be server down, could be updates coming, could be due to the crap cloanto is pulling... who knows?

Not my field, but i tried this:

If this is a result of the disputes and not a technical error:

Not taking sides, but since someone filed objection to Amigakit's filing for trademark in Benelux, forcing them to file in Australia and Canada, all we can say publically is that it is 1 or more of the participants in the trademark festivities.

Ha! Well you inverted the "i" as I see. It's so obvious now.

As obvious as this joke I recently made up. "So I tried to pick up this chick at The Reject Shop and she said no. I guess I should have seen that coming."

Neither, just the usual "ignoring e-mails and being late with the papers" problem.

But on the topic of privacy, whois has become more restrictive regarding anonymous look-ups and to get detailed whois info, you must now typically sign in at whois services.

Still nada.

But I see someone else likes the name basically:

Amiga Technologies

Interesting "Amiga History".

For a moment I thought Amigadevindia was back. heh.
