you forgot the link:

all sdl stuff, should be quite demanding. tried once cube on 060/voodoo3: 4fps or something.

@g01df1sh

Not exactly new, but some recommendations for "high spec" 680x0/rtg systems:

quake
quake2
descent freespace
hexen
hexen2
earth2140
exodus
Trapped2
Trapped3 (only a demo unfortunately)
Onescapee
fpse (playstation emulator)
ScummVM (I recommend slightly older versions rather than Novacoders ScummVM RTG,..... Novacoders port excludes support for many heavier games).
Testament
Testament2
Gloom Deluxe/Gloom2/Gloom3/etc

@g01df1sh

- Napalm on 640x512 RTG is pretty sweet game, the BIG explosions look still good :)
- Payback is fun on a beefy setup
- Nightlong is nice on hispec machine too

@g01df1sh

I think 68060 is bit low end scale now days, there are new demanding games coming for PowerPC.

@NutsAboutAmiga

Although g01df1sh didnt say so in this thread I assume he's using Amithlon (he started a thread about it recently).
As such hardware resources arent a big problem. Minus GL stuff Amithlon/OS3.x is at least on par with most PPC systems. Heck, much of the software is the same :)

Not that it matters, he asked about 68k stuff. Linking to ppc/os4 files is about as useful as a bicycle to a fish :)

@g01df1sh

Have also tried OS4 via UAE its just not quick enough on my i7 laptop with Nvidia gfx and 16GB ram. My OS4 fix will be a A1222 if it ever comes out the wait is killing me...

@g01df1sh

I see you already got lots of suggestions for PC games that you could run on your PC - but slower and with less features than by simply running the original PC version. Not sure that approach makes much sense

Here are some recommendations for actual Amiga games that make use of 38030+ CPU and (sometimes) RTG - look them up on HOL if you're interested:

3D shooters

Alien Breed 3D, Alien Breed 3D 2, Genetic Species, Nemac IV

2D shooters

Crossfire 2, T-Zero

Arcade

Bubble Heroes, Xtreme Racing

Flight simulators

Shadow of the Third Moon, TFX

Strategy

Napalm, Foundation

@cgutjahr

+1000

Not much sense to run a lesser quality version of the same game via Amiga emulation, when he can run the original on his i7 laptop with full features.

Run real Amiga games that require high specs on your emulated Amiga, and use Windows, or Linux to run the other recommended games as originals, instead of the Amiga ports of those games.

@cgutjahr

Heh,.... tfx is a pc game, bubble heroes is an inferior clone of a game for other systems, xtreme racing ditto, crossfire is multiplatform, foundation is an inferior clone of settlers2.

Just saying you might want to rethink what you type if youre going to try to be sarcastic and condescending :P

Additionally, these are secondary lists. The more Amiga specific titles are already mentioned in another thread by g01df1sh.

This is all disregarding the fact that many of these games need to be emulated to run on a pc these days as well..... Amiga seems as good a choice a platform to emulate them on as any.

@fishy_fis

Well there's Reshoot and Tales of Gorluth. Lots of PD stuff.

Gotta be a list of new 68K games somewhere. AF magazine site?

Oh I know. Any game that uses Backbone. That requires massive CPU power. LOL.

@Hypex

No way I would want to use DOS or windows 95 to play old games. Would much prefer to use Amiga where possible.

Don´t forget Heretic - first and best Doom clone. 68k version supports high resolutions and MIDI music.

Exodus Last war is worth of mention. Nice good looking startegy game.

APC TCP still sells it and it cost only 3 euros.
