Hi

IS CD32 motherboard layout planed. Also would it be possible to connect standard CDrom to the CD32 I just had a look at the CD32 motherboard and can only see one connector which maybe for the cd drive which does not look standard ide well there's a surprise Commodore LOL...

Reason for asking is a certain expansion board is planed for the CD32 not saying what as it may upset some.

There will be no support for the CD32

The A3000 motherboard belongs in an A3000 case.

Just an update, the first case prototype has been built, the MiniITX and MicroATX builds work fine but sadly I forgot to change a position dimension for the A500 mounting so this version cannot take the A500 boards. However, it is a simple update so this and a LOT of other tweaks are going into the second prototype metal work and should be ready in a few weeks. The front panel hilariously is pretty much perfect and the drive bay panels.

This is a zip file of images, please note this is a prototype and I have already mentioned the A500 board is not in correct position.

@clusteruk

Do you have some idea on what the cost per case is going to be, or is it too early to tell?

Target price for the Case alone is £150.

@clusteruk

That's a good price when you compare it to this. Ok it does include PSU and keyboard interface. However I bet the PSU is some cheap made in china thing.

@g01df1sh

The standard 300w budget PSU is £30 for Amiga build but you can pay more for better ones.

I hope to do keyboard adaptor for around £15 on top of case.

Hello

Would it be possible to add an adapter to connect an Amiga external keyboard to the internal connector of the Amiga 500 motherboard?
I do not know if I explain myself well

Something like this (sorry it's in french) :

http://obligement.free.fr/articles/amiga500_clavier_separe.php

Or the same for A1200 :

http://obligement.free.fr/articles/fabriquer_interface_clavier.php

An Amiga case without an Amiga keyboard... it's somewhat incomplete for me.

Don't read me wrong, your case look wonderfull, great job. My post is just a question or suggestion.

EDIT : I check and like i remenber, the historical Checkmate 1500 come with an external keyboard case to fit the A500 keyboard, with an adaptator to make it an external keyboard.

@kamelit0

That is just the 3D printed prototype material that is a bit translucent. The final one should not be

You know, man, once this thing is in "mass" production it might behoove you to get a sample to Clint at Lazy Game Reviews or The 8-Bit Guy on Youtube, or maybe Retro Man Cave or Nostalgia Nerd in the UK. I bet they'd eat this up!

@clusteruk

Another question, after looking at the pictures your have uploaded, i don't understand how a standard PC ATX or AT power supply can power up the Amiga 500/1200 motherboard ?

I don't see an adaptator and cable connected to the A500/A1200 power connector ? Have i missed something ?

Can you explain how it work ?

Thanx

@babsimov

For the Amiga 500 there is an expansion card that I have sitting on my desk that plugs into the expansion bus, this has an ATX power socket to power entire machine as well as the internal Zorro 2 slot and x86 slot. On the A1200 and A600 there will be a diferent method developed.
