@Tuxedo

Powerbook 5.6 G4 1667 MorphOS 3.9

mplayer (console)

BENCHMARKs: VC: 28.387s VO: 0.017s A: 0.000s Sys: 0.836s = 29.240s
BENCHMARK%: VC: 97.0814% VO: 0.0596% A: 0.0000% Sys: 2.8589% = 100.0000%

Slightly faster than the mini, but less than the clock difference could let expect you.

These both systems are very much on par.

@Zylesea

yes, probably some ram/hdd differences makes the test quite equal...

@all

I've updated the topic trying to put a clear "table" of posted results.
If someone can do some more test and also someX1000/x5000/Viper/WinUAE/MOS can do some more test is welcome

@Tuxedo

I think you should provide also non-AltiVec result for better dnetc comparison (koge scalar core) - when available (eg. above result for G5).

@Tuxedo

There is generic non-altivec binary in MUI-MPlayer package (that is what I used).

With MickJT-MPlayer: 164.519s

Sorry, but WinUAE/QEMU is too sloooooooooooooow for FPU benchmarks. Lame on faster desktop computer had 0.33x with other file, I don´t think it would be much better with this one. Once I have A1222, I will make all requested benchmarks.

I will try BoingCube and GPMarc next.

In muimplayer there 2 different directory come : altivec and generic. I.e. 2 separate programs from which you choice what one you need. Probably you someday install altivec version and forget about.

Do not rememer if it possilble to disable altivec use from config, as altivec version is compiled with altivec flags, and has different code than generic version.

* Note 2: Aflops version was for 040
* Note 3: BoingCube doesn't work under OS4emu (at least on my setup)
