@paradox

Good, and hopefully they will have more products in stock really soon.

Question:
As it's a .co.uk web site, I would think it's an English company... But their prices are in $$$ ?

Cool!

Also like your avatar - one of my mates has had that image tatooed on his forearm for many years now

@JerryUK007

Yeah, strange - if you look on the "Conditions of Use" page, you'll find the following:
Quote:
All payments are made in UK Sterling.

It also states that Quote:
Currently our credit/debit card payments are processed by Paypal
- I haven't looked into it further, but I don't use PayPal...

Good luck to them, though - hope that they get some more good, and reasonably priced, stock in!

@Mark

Sven's isn't due online until the end of the month at the earliest.

This one is weird. The BPPC and CSPPC versions of OS4 are listed (the BPPC version being 99p cheaper!), but what really concerns me is the only contact details are a web-based form - there is no email address, no phone number and no postal address.

It might be worth checking with Eyetech to see if they are an authorised AmigaOne dealer; they aren't listed on Eyetech's website, but it is possible it hasn't been updated.

This is worth a look then.

I would currently say "avoid", until confirmation from Eyetech is sought.

...and more relevantly, the forum thread that you can find linked from there:

http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43473

The word has already been spread to many other places, too - perhaps he's moved into the Amiga market because the PC one had become too hot for him?

@Paradox

Please check out the post by "acrimonious" on 28-10-2003 @ 07:43 on the following forum, and confirm that you are not the same "Paradox" who responded as the owner of Sunbeamtech.co.uk

http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=43473&page=3&pp=20

Also, is this you?
http://www.pcreview.co.uk/member.php?s=65d41133c5063d95f4ec5044bfbc6042&userid=4510

What odds will anyone give me that the two are actually one-and-the-same person?

We've never heard of them - they are certainly not an official A1 dealer. Currently Stellar dreams are the only UK based A1 dealer.

Hope this helps

@Chunder

It certainly appears that Mr. Paradox here is very likely involved with amigashop.co.uk.

Hmm - nice to know!

Shame that StellarDreams is down until the 20th... *sigh*

@Thread/moderators

I'd be inclined to put a big warning on this thread, and then close it!

Looks like a scam to me, for starters there offering Amiga OS 4 for sale? The blizzard/cyberstorm versions too, which aren't due to be released until after the A1 final version is out - and I for one am not holding my breath for that. Paradox is clearly in on this, judging by his/her posts. I hope its not fraudsters the Amiga market has had more than its fair share, I've been had by them myself unfortunately.

@cockney_dave

Its almost certainly a scam. amigashop.co.uk's official registrant is "pc-x-treme.net". Do a google for pc-x-treme.net, and you'll see its not a very reputable company, and is linked with the now defunct "sunbeamtech.co.uk".

Plus, to sell AmigaOnes, you have to buy them from Eyetech. See the post from Eyetech above.
