Hi all,

I am new here... i'm a programmer and I just joined. I've been reading posts here for quite a while, thought i'd sign up and join in the conversations.

I became a bit interested with the Amiga while working on projects at work. We work with some Freescale stuff, and I had to read up on the architecture.

I look forward to being part of the community.

@Cod3r

just wear your thick skin while here, most of us are friendly.

I see you're having a problem with your avatar. Avatars are 120x120 pixels and 5 KBytes maximum.

@Cod3r

Welcome also.

I'm interested in what Amiga architecture you had to read up on. Being that I can only see Freescale relevant to the later NG PowerPC Amiga machines. Was it original, PPC CPU cards, or AmigaOne+ type boards?

@Hypex

I assume just the CPU.
(unless some HW like Efika is in use for Freescale PPC SW R&D)

Anyway, nice to have more modern Freescale PPC competence around.

@sundown

Thanks for welcoming me! I am not easily offended. In this world you cannot be. Plus, my intentions are pure, i'm just here to share ideas and learn more. Doubt that will start a ruckus ;)

I do need an avatar... next project!

@Hypex

Thanks for the welcome :)

In regards to Freescale stuff, the company I work for uses some Coldfire and CPU32 (native 68k instruction set compatible) microcontrollers in some of our products.

I had to read bucketloads about all of them to familiarize myself with the architecture. Since I work in low-level programming, unlike most application coders who use C or other higher-level languages, I have to use assembly and that requires a more in-depth knowledge of the target hardware. And I started on MIPS and other RISC-based designs.

So to answer more directly, I never touched a real Amiga in my life, and I never worked directly on any official Amiga-compatible product.

@Templario

Thank you! I have a bit more to learn about the platform before I can make Amiga software. At least worthwhile software...
