@tomazkid

Three days? I thought I read that the voting was to end on 3 November.

Ha! I am holding down a strong 5th place. What a race.

Those members 1-4 are all good choices I feel. Just hope they stay in the lead. Lay clear of that 5th place one though, he may be a loose cannon.

@thread

Bear in mind that afxgroup has declined, and we haven't yet heard back from everyone on the 'ballot.' Please vote for 2 or 3 people..

I vote for Steve Solie (SSolie). Consider this a write in.

I'm sure Steven appreciates the support, but this isn't the place to vote, and Steven isn't on the ballot this time, so....

Regarding time...*shrug* ask DaveyD, I guess he believes the majority of people who are going to vote, have...?

BTW, if you voted for afxgroup and want to change your vote, as he's declined, please PM DaveyD and he'll do so.

And since afxgroup is the only one who has declined, it should mean that all the other nine candidates are prepared to be moderators.

Strange to whack off a week if the voting is slow. Or maybe that is what you do when it is slow.

T-Bone was gone for some days and found upon his return that he was in an election. I think I understood his words correctly from another thread. Better to have left the extra week for voting in case others are away doing God only knows what.

Prepared? I am blissfully riding along in 5th place. What Me Worry?

I voted for you. In fact, I was the one who kept saying "Moxee" when I was still on staff.

Yeah, you said what i wanted to say. I also have a positive view on Afxgroup and he didn't gather the majority of the votes for nothing. I voted only him for various reasons. Some of them are:
- I don't have a specific opinion about many of the candidates, simply because i don't know them enough.
- A few of them, who i know of, doesn't seem to be very emotionally balanced and i have witness them to display rude behavior, many times. (This is a key element for a good mod)
- At least one of them is an OS4 fanatic which is something that i don't like. Specially when the thing is unreleased.

You could do a search on the nominees names, to get some sort of idea on their past posting history, characteristics, etc...

Well, it is true that I, for example, had engages in flamewars in the past and have been at least rude. It would be silly not to acknowledge this. However, I do not do so anymore and would obviously never do so as a mod. However, let's just say that I've grown up and have far better things to do than to engage in pointless arguments and would also never go down that road as a mod.

Well, you could say that you have experience "from the other side" then

All the 10 candidates were carefully selected by the staff, and considered as good moderators to be, so whoever will end up in place 1 and 2, will likely succeed.

@AMiGR

I'm sure you would be a good moderator as you have a quite objective vision of the current situation. The quality of your posts has improved a lot since the years you wrote in ANN, your posts are very balanced now. Good luck!

I feel that Zero-Hero work with his crosscompilers and other projects like Opus is far too important and he shouldn't take time from it in order to moderate forums, but I also voted him as he seems to be quite balanced too.

Either of you will be good moderators. Good luck to Zero-hero too (if he really wants to become a moderator).
