Hi I wonder if someone can help me.

I recently purchased a new old stock magic pack from Amigakit. The discs however are German and I cannot speak German, unfortunately.

Could someone email me the English catalogs for Wordworth 4SE, Datastore 1.1, Organiser 1.1, Print Manager, TurboCalc. Photogenics 1.2a SE & Personal Paint 6.4?

One or all of these would be a great help in getting these working in English. Alternatively, the ADFs for this software in English (I can photo the discs to prove I own them).

PM for email address if you can help or check the email address on the contact page of my website, amiga600.net.

Mike

@A1200

You can still purchase the original Amiga Magic Pack Software Pack in English from AmigaKit and it's fairly inexpensive. Of course, it comes with all the original books in English and serial number. I purchased an extra just have.

Here's the link....

Hope this helps....

@Amiga4000

Seems they sent me the German version by mistake. Its all gone quiet on the ticket I raised after purchasing, but I know the chaps read aw.net so may be prompted by this thread.

Cheers.

@A1200

Why not just change your language in Locale Prefs? Doesn't that work?

English (well, American) is usually the built-in language and should be the default if you remove all other languages from the list in Locale Prefs.

Best regards,

Niels

@A1200

I would have thought all the catalogs would be included. I have seen seperate executables for platforms like Windows but Amiga is meant to be different. There should be one program and all catalogs included.

@Hypex

Depends entirely on whether the program used locales or not. Many exes back then were still regional rather than using a catalog and locale prefs.

I can't remember if my WW7 was even localised or not, although I do have the magic pack disks set here somewhere as well.

Surprising that Amigkit have not responded to the ticket about this and not jumped all over this thread for the sake of a swap out of some discs. They must be busy, no hurry.

Update: Amigakit have discovered some German discs in their English magic pack stock so are resolving the issue for me today. Thanks all and thanks Amigakit.
