Anyone know if there are any printers that are plug and play friendly with the NG Amigas? AmigaOne 500 in particular. Thanks.

Ed

HP printers used to be a given. If they stlll accept PCL3. PCL3GUI is compatible. Not sure for ones using PCL5. Should be upwards compatible.

Or, a printer that accepts postscript.

I have an HP DeskJet 1050 with my A1-XE. With TurboPrint HP_DeskJet565x printer driver, I can print fine. Can't use the scanner, of course.

The great times went with Turboprint. (HP560)

How do You connect and install a HP 2600 to an XE.. There is an Eth connection too so I think it goes from there and usb to the pc. Otherwise I send things from the net to the side-by side towers. How stupid is that?

Most Brother laser printers seem to emulate the old HP Laserjets and so should work fine with any postscript driver. Some of them even have a parallel port, so good for classics too!

Don't how current the list is though.

luckily since the printing architecture and drivers haven't changed in years, it's still plenty current.

that said we're always looking for submissions from folks, so if anyone reading this is using a printer successfully with their next-generation amiga, please let us know and we'll add it to the database. intuitionbase.com is only as useful as our readers make it, so please pitch in if you'd like to add something to our lists!

Maybe we get a driver in the next update. If I was a printer manufacturer there would be certain sellings for a good One;)

Won't be fidling with not so use computer until all is done. Too much to ask for supporting?

@Hypex

PCL5 printers need the LJ4 driver.

Most HP laser printers accept PCL5. Printers from a lot of other manufacturers do too - it's always worth trying the LJ4 driver.

I use an HP Photosmart 5520 all in one printer with the HP_Photosmart driver from OS4Depot. I also use the HP_Photosmart73xx with TurboPrint which prints very nice pictures.
You can also sign up with HP and print to the printer by sending picture and PDF files as attachedment to emails.

The scanner can be used from Odssey and Timberwolf browsers.
You should be able to use most current HP printer of a similar family like this as well.

Been happy with HP Lasejet Pro M451. I use the AmigaOS4 Postscript driver here and currently through LAN. Tested also with USB, too.
