When say load, do you mean popped the tray open and down with the AF disk so it would boot from it? Or just loaded it on Workbench?
If trying to boot it AF may not be mastered with any advanced features like being a bootable CD. It may just be a data CD.
AFAIK, the AF CD is only a CD. DVD would be more expensive and they need 4GB of data to fill it! |

As I recall, AF CD's are not bootable, and so would not boot when inserted into a CD32. You would have to boot to a Workbench to be able to view the contents of the CD. _________________ Test sig (new) |

There were some magazine cover cds back in the day that did boot into Workbench on a CD32 and which had a little tool (NoReboot if I recall correctly) that didn't reboot the CD32 when the lid of the CD-player was opened. I believe the Amiga Format CDs were done like that but I can be wrong. _________________ Back home... |

Years ago I ran a setup using an Amiga 3000 desktop connected to a Amiga CD32 using the Communicator AHWB. This plugged into the AUX connector of the CD32 and on the other and connected to the A3000s serial connector. Speed was... euh well... how to put this nice... extremely slow at the slowest end of slow. Like using an old 14k modem but then... slower.
Although being slow, it worked rather well and stable and was far cheaper then getting an external SCSI CD-ROM drive back then. The CD32 I bought brand new AFTER Commodore went bust so it must have come cheap. _________________ Back home... |

| Could use an SX-1, SX-32 or a Promodle to turn the CD32 into an A1200 machine with CD drive. _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1 |

You could, but then you might as well just buy an A1200

They tend to cost a small fortune when they come on sale. Wish someone would do a new expansion card for it. All you need is some ram and SD slot. |
