Does it have GFX/Sound/USB/SATA or at least PCI/PCIe expansion?

I dont know mate 8)
in any way it is a prototipe on P5020 with Uboot and linuxPPC working on it :P

Yes. What is interesting is that the creator/author claims that the bill of materials is about $600.

However, considering that you should include all other components we need: DVD drive, video card, sound card, case, Xmos chip, OS licences... the costs could easily raise up.

Not to consider OS port and drivers development

Yes, but the other important thing is what components are on the motherboars.
Pcie?Pci? all integrated... you know everything made the prize rising up.
In any way $600 in europe become 600 euro and only for a motherboard with a cpu.

at that price I'd go for the sure thing and buy a A1-500/ Sam460 from ACube.
