Tried updating to 3.9 using the installer and it causes a guru (Line 1111 emulator error) at the moment. Will try to find the reason.
The only file which I did not copy was crawling.mcc which was an older version. Will try copying the older version that came with MUI 3.9 Last edited by Ancalimon on 07-Jun-2014 at 11:20 PM.

Line F (%1111=0xf) is usually an FPU instruction trap without an FPU.

If you have a working FPU in your 68060 and the 68060.library is installed (by SetPatch), then you do have problems. This is most likely the PC (CPU program counter) getting lost from bad or corrupt code. You can get rid of any add-on MUI libraries and try again. This usually involves deleting (or renaming for temp testing purposes) the whole MUI directory and installing a fresh version. If you still have problems, remove all hacks and go back to a standard AmigaOS. If you still have problems, it could be hard drive or hardware related.

If MUI programs dont start at all then removing all 3rd party custom classes is not help. They are loaded only on demand and clearly MUI 3.9 is crashing before this happen.
To me this look like there is problem in MUI 3.9 release and I would not reformat AmigaOS partition at this moment. Last edited by itix on 08-Jun-2014 at 06:30 AM. Last edited by itix on 08-Jun-2014 at 06:29 AM.

I was under the impression that MUI failed when programs using MUI were executed. If this is the case, then 3rd party libraries (or old MUI 3.8 libraries that the installer failed to delete) could be causing problems.

Reformatting the AmigaOS would be an overreaction but removing (or renaming) the old MUI and doing a fresh install without all the add-ons is what I would do. That and watch the web site for an MUI 3.9 update ;).

That is really unexpected! However, until any interesting software requires it, I will stay with stable 3.8 release. |

3rd party libraries are not loaded automatically. It is not even necessary to delete old MUI 3.8 libraries because if MUI 3.9 is not using them they are never executed.
Just rollback to MUI 3.8 until problem is fixed. Dont try anything dramatic because it is just beta.

I forgot to backup my old 3.8 drawer. I simply deleted its contents and reinstalled MUI 3.8.
Anyone successfully using 3.9? |

I have integrated it in Aros Vision. Wildfire works with both Zune and 3.8 but does not start with 3.9 |

I think it takes some time, but still gets processed. Probably speed of processing depends on whether Stefan is at home or abroad with his mountainbike to travel specalular routes - currently he bikes south america - www.alpenzorro.de (German) - I guess he'll stay on the road for a couple of moths still. He started im mid April and the tour is scheduled for about 10.000-15.000km - mountainbike route, not road bike route. Hence i guess no MUI registrations till Christmas or so._________________ My programs: via.bckrs.de MorphOS user since V0.4 (2001) |

Looks like Wildfire is hardcoded to use 3.8. The new sub libs *do* work with wf, except for muimaster.
Edit: looks like there's nothing wrong with Wildfire, it runs perfectly with the new version of mui on my normal winuae setup.

It could be your old settings. Try (re)moving/renaming ENVARC:mui before starting any MUI program. _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

No need to. MUI 3.8 settings are compatible with MUI 3.9. _________________ Amiga Developer Amiga 500, Efika, Mac Mini and PowerBook |
