It has been removed from aminet.net...
I'd like to get new version as current doesn't work anymore.
Anybody knows what happened?

Check OS4Depot.net, that's where most AmigaOS 4.x software is, if you can't find it there ask Origon on Amigans.net.

Problem is GetVideo is made for 68K and not on the Depot. ClipDown is there but IIRC I couldn't get it to work without it.

The author requested to have it removed from Aminet. It didn't work anymore, because Youtube had changed stuff (again) and he didn't have the time to constantly adapt it.

That must have been at least six months ago, but for some reason three different people are asking for it this week

I was looking for it too earlier this week. Actually I mentioned it on amigans.net before I realised it had gone, which might be part of the reason why it suddenly got popular.

Ok for YouTube, but GetVideo worked also in other site so why remove it completely ?

I don't know, you'd have to discuss that with the author.

My guess is that leaving it online meant getting more feedback and support requests ("Youtube doesn't work!"), so he had it removed.

I deleted it from my harddrive after this news. It didnt play most youtubes for a long time.

smtube (qt) together with mplayer does the job well (os4).

Even odyssey can play but takes much cpu at least on os4.

It doesn't take much cpu if you play it on fullscreen, at least on MorphOS. Roughly said about the same as played separately with MPlayer. But maybe it depends if overlay is supported with your gfx card?

But shame if GetVideo is left unsupported, I did like to use it because in many cases it's better to watch videos on separate mplayer window and you can do whatever you want with the browser while watching videos (browse elsewhere, close the whole browser etc).
