Hi there!

New ACA1233 has a place for FPU socet which is, according to Jens, not "officially" supported.
Has anyone tested the card with FPU? DOES it work with FPU anyway?

I am really interested in getting ACA1233 if FPU works with it.

Yeah the lack of an FPU on these cards always pushes me to buy an old card each time.

I know what you mean, if we are brave enough we will try an ACA1233 with an FPU although manufacturer states that warranty is invalid once we solder on card.

You could always ask Jens to be exempt from that rule, being more than a mere amateur user, surely a reseller with in house technical personnel could have an authorised modification?

He has said that if we offer the warranty we can do it. We certainly have the expertise to do in house. For special longstanding customers, we are willing to take the risk ;)

That is really good to know. I would probably re-enter the Amiga Classic Market if I were able to purchase an A1200 with an 060 card. Simply don't understand why 060 accelerator cards are not being offered for purchase.

Yes 060 would be good, but the CPUs are so hard to get hold off.

Plus also 060 based accelerators are more of a commercial risk to make, if they are not sold out, thats a lot of money to tie up for a few years.

That's what preordering is for. If the cards do not get released, everybody gets their money back. If customers don't pay the remaining part of the money, they don't get their cards or the money they payed before back.

Any chance to fit 060 code in FPGA?

Like Majsta did with Vampire for A600?

See the ACA-1233 post in the Classic Amiga forum on this site from a few days ago. I too successfully upgraded my ACA-1233 to an 68882 FPU at 40mhz....

I have an opportunity to buy an aca1233 with fpu should I buy it?
What is the good thing with having a fpu?

I have read somewhere that mounting a fpu could slow down the card.

Is it common that people mount a fpu on this card now? If you are one of them how is the card working?
