| Hi,
I just installed a Readeon HD7750 GDDR5 1G PCI-E Low profile card in my SAM 460ex. This card is also slim so it fits in one slot and does not interfere with my 3114 Sata PCI card.
Some pics of the installed card can be found here:

Any suggestions of where I can get some demos or games to try the 3D on this? (I have the latest 3D and graphics drivers installed).

Thanks.
I noticed the 7750 would get a bit loud during idle or low load. I knew that having the Cooling fan of the card pretty much sandwiched beside the 3114 SATA did not help. So I used a 90 degree PCI adapter on the 3114 SATA card. Made quite the difference. A lot quieter now since the fan isn't blocked and it has access to more air from the case.

How high is that PCI adapter? It is hard to see on that picture. Do you think one can fit a "full size" graphics card in the PCI-E x4 slot? |

The Adapter is 25mm (2.5 cm). About 20mm once it is pluggegd in. I use a Low profile card because of the case. if you have a double slot card I doubt this adapter is low enough to allow it to fit over the PCI slot. I used it to get more air to the fan and it make the card quieter.

I just checked some pictures of dual slot cards. They all have the fan housing, or what to call it, too close to the lower edge of the card. Last edited by Niolator on 25-Apr-2015 at 05:33 PM.

Any PCI-E x 1 Sata cards for the 4.1 OS? That would solve all our problems :)

I asked that question in this thread. There is obviously little hope for PCI-E support when it comes to SATA-controlelrs.

Hey nice work on the adapter for the PCI slot.
I can't quite tell but it doesn't look like your 3114 is supported and is just hanging from the slot. I would recommend doing something to support the weight of the card - even a zip tie through the holes at the back of the case and through the mounting hole.
You don't want any sort of torque on the PCI slot. Long term this has a chance to cause issues.
Cheers!

It's a shame really. Throwing a SATA card in the PCI-E slot would be awesome.

If you look closely I have a piece of cardboard wedged underneath the Angled SATA connector against the Power Supply. Buy yes, I will secure it further in the future :)

Yes, it is either that or fixing working drivers for the SATA 2-port on the motherboard. If I understand things correctly the status for that is about the same as for SATA-cards in the PCI-E slot.

As Sam460cr doesn't have onboard SATA the PCI-E 1x support should have higher priority. |

You're of course right there. Maybe it's the same "bug" that causes both problems? If one is solved maybe the other comes with it? |
