Google adsense is tracking your web activity with cookies and tries to show you "interesting" adverts in the hope that you click on them.

Maybe your wife or daughter is using the same Computer or one of your Google devices (android phone).

Mostly its only me using this computer and its strange because i'm not particularly interested anything of this. There is a game that pops up once in a while but that's all.


Now i suddenly got a Freescale ad. I'm usually using a ad blocker.

ok.. maybe you have another device where you are logged in with your gmail account? Youtube or any other Google Service.
Whatever if they can't track you, the one who pays more per click will be shown randomly... maybe there is a boom in Lady shave Business : )

The page owner should be able to filter relevant ads. I don't know anything about google ads but it should have been, or is possible to filter out unrelated ads?

Google Ads working on the concept of Remarketing and display network ads, these ads choices are derived from your previous google searches and site visits from you computer/IP address/google account/youtube account and any other website that google owns... including Android.

We run google remarking adverts at my works, when I visit Amigaworld, sometimes I get adverts about our websites (I work on) because I recently visited it.

Also when logging into you google acocunt on home and work computers the ads are transferable.

eg I search for something on Ebay at work for work, I go home and google is showing me adverts specifically for the item I searched for but on a home computer.

Of course as google also uses you IP for adverts if no other info is available, it can also pickup searches of the IP user before you, especially if your on a dynamic IP allocation which changes on your broadband often

Me deletes automaticly all traces when i quit firefox and i still get often woman shoes ads. I think it has more to do with the Amiga word.

It's just an ad blocker like you already use on your pc. only this one works, no CSS means most adverts don't show anyway.

Sites may not look as pretty but the information is usually still there. SSL is a problem with every stupid site using https when there's no need though. In my opinion https should only be used when sending financial information to specific pages dor ordering items not when browsing the whole site. using https for youtube where nearly everything is free to watch for example is just stupid.

Clear your history and cookies regularly!

If you don't remove all traces you'd perhaps get more relevant ads?

I constantly see dealextreme ads when I looked for new gadgets, and such, and I rarely delete any cookies.

Amigaworld obviously need it's ads, and the company that has the ads most likely wants people who actually might buy their goods to see the ads. And the only way for the ad company to know what you're interested in is by using cookies and tracing what other stuff you clicked at. When they find nothing, perhaps they'll just show you woman shoes.

I don't know about an ad filter, do ads have preferences? Usually ads are in your face regardless if you care or not.

Even using an old broswer like iBrowse doesn't remove ads.
