| So I just installed 4.1 FE two days go over the 'old' 4.1. That meant I also had to reinstall a few things like Odyssey. On every start, Odyssey 1.23 keeps on initializing the fonts. I've had this problem before, when I just received my AONE500 (I believe it's around two years ago now) and the suggestion on here was to remove the fontconfig dir of Odyssey. I've tried that, but that doesn't solve the problem anymore on 4.1 FE. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to solve this on 4.1 FE? _________________ Proud user of AmigaOS 4.1 on an AmigaONE 500. If I remember correctly, deleting font cache (weirdly named file in "Conf/font") solved same problem for me. Note: make backup before deleting anything! |

Which file did you delete?
You need to go to the conf directory in the oddysey prgram directory, and delete the files with very log names, you usually will see twi files one with a .NEW suffix, oddysey somehow fails to replce the old one with the new one, you can fix that by deleting both and starting oddysey again.

You're right, there's some files with a "silly future date". Strange, 'cause my system time is sane (it's exactly the same as on the clocks in my house, my phone, my mum's phone, the clocks in the nearby stores, etc. ). How do I fix this? _________________ Proud user of AmigaOS 4.1 on an AmigaONE 500. From a shell, type
SetDate
Without the angle brackets ofcourse... this will set the file datestamp to the current system time.
If there a lot of them you can do
SetDate FONTS: all
You probably will still need to run the font setup of oddyssey again, so delete the odyssey conf files as before.
Should be fixed after that.
If not take a hand ful of hair pull hard and utter your favourite obscenity....
