Hello All,

Just wanted to see who else would be interested in contributing to see an updated remote desktop server for AmigaOS 4. AmiVNC is long in the tooth and there are better technologies since it was created.

Cheers,
Bill "tekmage" Borsari

@tekmage

Would be cool to have a server that works faster over wifi.

That'd be great! Not that I'm complaining about AmiVNC, it works. But it'd be great if we had something better/faster!

@tekmage

absolutely! the VNC viewers we have work nicely, but i've always had issues with amivnc. i'd pay good money for a well-executed VNC server for AOS4 with a nice reaction UI.

I would ofcourse contribute to a bounty for that, i'm not using vnc atm but it's very likely that it could be handy to have someday.

The main reason I haven't worked on it the last few years is mostly because i haven't been able to run my Amiga as a server on this broadband connection, but I could give it a shot (testing locally) to improve it a bit. Planar support has to go though. It's too demotivating to try to maintain all the variations of that format. OK? 32 and possibly 16-bit only.

A GUI would be very good since it would allow remote config while it's running (to fix colors etc).

Apparently I had an unreleased version with some fix in it!
It's on OS4depot and Aminet now.

It was a minor fix, but still.

@Deniil715

Got your release from the upload queue.
It always open a console window saying: "1 cLog=T:AmiVNC.log"
