It seems that Spring is yet to come for Morph butterflies...

@Raffaele

After 8 years waiting for MorphOS to come for my PowerBook G4, I bought Mac Mini and managed to boot MorphOS off CD. Tinkered some half hour sessions, then I even managed to boot it off UBS flash drive.
Kept me busy for some days, but I didn't used it in past month.

@thread

I'm still awaiting for TRIPOS to respond to my question as to what games i should play on MorphOS that aren't available on Amiga OS4.......

I am keen to try it out but there is also the issue of MorphOS on a Sam 460cr board not having any sound output as from what i can see it only supports on board audio and also having to downgrade my graphics card down to a Radeon 5450......

i can't think of too many. two that spring to mind are fortis and uplink. it's a shame you're using MOS on the SAM460 -- it's a much better experience on apple HW or the pegasos boards.

edit: i forgot the robin hood game, although i've never played that one.

@eliyahu

Cheers for the heads up, i have had a look on a few of the MorphOS dedicated websites and found little to differentiate from what is already available on OS4 so was just curious.

It is a bit annoying that the Sam 460 port of MorphOS isn't as feature rich as those found on other platforms.... As a rule i tend not to touch any Apple related hardware, but i guess its going to be ported to the X5000 and that will hopefully take advantage of the better hardware specs offered by the new machine.

@Develin

Neither of these have appeared on OS4 to my knowledge, but I will try out MorphOS when I upgrade my current set up to the X5000 and MorphOS appears hopefully along soundcard support and 3D graphic card support for a Radeon 7750/R7 250 card.....

Fortis, Knight & Merchants and Virtual Grand Prix 2 are the only ones I can think of that haven't been mentioned in this thread already. There is also the Feeble Files but the 68k version may run on OS4.

Paul Burkey is responsible for quite a few games and ports for MorphOS and a few for DE but by the time OS4 was released he'd quit any kind of Amiga work.

@Rob

Virtual Grand Prix 2 sounds interesting especially as I like my racing games

@outrun1978

The driver for the Radeon HD 5450 does not support 2D or 3D acceleration yet.

As to a 7750/7770 driver (or any GCN card driver for that matter), that may be awhile.

@iggy

thats disappointing to hear....

so in short progress in the blue camp is as slow and frustrating as it can sometimes be in the red camp....

imagine how much quicker progress can be made if shock horror the both camps started co-operating...... many hands make light work and all that...... #justathought

@outrun1978

Somewhat slow.
I'm shipping video cards to Mark "Bigfoot" Olsen as I obtain them, and Mark is working on driver acceleration.
But unlike what Hans has done, Mark is working up from our existing 2D/3D drivers.
So the next series that will offer acceleration is the R600, and so on.

This makes more sense for our hardware base as we still have a lot of AGP systems and the best AGP cards available are based on R600 and R700 gpus (we already have R500 acceleration).

Right now Mark has one GCN card, I have another here ready to ship, and I'm locating a third.
But we are likely to see accelerated drivers for the earlier cards before those get worked on.

The real reason no one has seen much action from the MorphOS team recently is that they are in the process of replacing some code that was pulled when one of the developers withdrew from the project.

Hopefully we'll see something by (or before) AmiWest.

I'm still looking forward to running MorphOS on an X5000, and the Radeon HD 7750/7770 should eventually be supported (the 7770 that I am shipping Mark for development is sitting in my PC as I write this).

Not my situation. I used MOS for hours any week until OWB starting became obsolete and never updated as it requires MOS 3.10 coming out, else no developers is authorized to release 3.10 version compliant software.

Not sure I understand your comment.
Since 3.10 isn't released yet, why would anyone want software tailored to run under it?

Not tailored but spoilering some features if available as libraries and not at kernel/api level...
