| Hi
Maybe I'm doing something wrong. My issue is if I try to drag a game icon to say the games menu in amistart it just changes the icon of the game I drag over the top of and does not add a new entry. If I try and add it by creating a new command it tries to load but then fails. Any help would be cool.

Ok I have found the issue but don't know how to solve it. I don't have Deluxe Galaga installed by default in Amigasys setup so don't have anything to compare.
I need a magic Amiga guru to help me....
Below text found in another forum.
If you are in Icon mode and drag&drop such an icon to AmiStart, the game is added to the AmiStart menu.
However the games installed by WHDLoad don't contain the executable, just the .info file. While it still works if such an icon is doublecliked, the AmiStart interpret the things differently. It thinks you just want to replace the icon. This is because you actually drag&drop the icon file only. In this case create a new entry in AmiStart menu first: press and hold the right-mouse button and select New -> Command. Then configure the entry. Check how the Deluxe Galaga is configured in AmiStart. It's WHDLoad game too:
Title: Deluxe Galaga Icon: SYS:Games/DeluxeGalaga/DeluxeGalaga Application: SYS:Games/DeluxeGalaga/DeluxeGalaga

Not in front of any Amiga-oid system at the moment, and to be honest your post is a little unclear, but amistart has a few "modes". Drag and drop can be used to add new stuff to amistart, or to execute, depending on the mode.
As I said Im not infront of any of my Amiga-oids at the moment, so please excuse the vagueness, but does this help with your problem? (a little experimenting should clarify what Im trying to say here, despite my vagueness). |

Hi fish
I can drag and drop normal installed games eg t-zero from cd ok. If I do the same with whdload games it just changes the icon to what ever i drag over to the amistart. Hope this makes it a bit clearer Last edited by g01df1sh on 26-May-2017 at 07:34 PM. Last edited by g01df1sh on 26-May-2017 at 07:31 PM.

There's probably a more direct way, but you could try making a script per whdload game and make it executable rather than using the whdload games icon. Something like (for example) :
cd games:whdloadgames/turrican2 turrican2
5.30 a.m. here at the moment and my brain is fried and refusing to co-operate, but that's what it came up with in its current, dysfunctional state |
