I had a dream ... AmigaSteamDream

AmigaSteamStart (AmigaCD64 HW)
-AMD (4...8C) chip with embedded RadeonHD
-Alice -like SW setup with Steam
-with or without PPC(P1022/T1022, 2GB+uSD) module on PCIe card (if emulation is not sufficient, untill native AmigaOS is ready)
-...

AmigaSteamMain (AmigaCD128 HW)
-Intel I5 (4c) with high end RadeonHD
-Alice -like SW setup with Steam
-with or without PPC(P1022/T1022, 2GB+uSD) module on PCIe card (if emulation is not sufficient, untill native AmigaOS is ready)
-...

AmigaSteamEverywhere
-Alice via Steam Store to morph your Steam box to an AMIGAAAAH!

What's needed for Amiga developers to be able to develop for Steam on AOS?
Is Hollywood going to support Steam one day?
What's needed to run Steam on AOS...? (I suspect a x64/A64 CPU is a mandatory requirement)
Is Alice planned to become Steam delivered one day...?

Yes, , but anyway...

@KimmoK

it can be only a dream ... steam need 64bit Os for run. 32 bit are not any more supported.
wine cant be portable ... darwine is an example adbandoned project on OsX PPC 15 yars ago.
wine run on linux ppc (on my machine) with many tricks and tips . on G5 quake in software rendering run like quake gl on PI3 with exagear (commercial app) .
I had been in touch with the exagear team year ago ... but they are not interested to make a port of their wrapper on PPC and it can be portable in some parts. (try in past to make a joint Vadim (exagear) with trevor ... without succes )
Exagear emulate an i686 with sse1 and sse2 with an nvidia 5800fx wrapped in the dri Vc4 and gave a good performaces on pi3

@KimmoK

my 9 year old uses my Steam account..personally I'm not crazy about having a game center thingy for my games etc. I like to control where/ when/ how myself thanks... basically main reason why I've always used Amiga OS

@tlosm

Yep.
But for a random potential new "Amiga" user, it would be cool to be able to get emulated Amiga via steam to your Steam compatible x64 PC.
Initially it could be an Alice setup.

I imagine Steam is not the worst HW "abstractor" / HAL because it run games very well.
In the long a run more native x64 version could be developed.

I think via Steam people get "enough" games. And I imagine with modern x64 HW one can get acceptable user experience of Amigalike OS + productivity apps + retro games.

And in the long run (in 15 years), it seems we anyway need to start using x64.

@klx300r

Yep.
It would not be fun to nurse the "host" under the hood.

(in the very long run -> native x64 "Amiga" hosting the Steam via "AmigaOneSteam" or whatever)
