I don't really know what category to put this one in, but it can be moved if so desired.

bizarre. 'amiga games, inc.' was only formed a few weeks ago according to this. there's practically nothing about it whatever on the web that i can see -- well, aside from rehashing the press release. the web site of this company is just a boing ball animation.

the owner is bill mcewen. but that was probably obvious anyway. oh well, good for him.

Well there is much info to be found on "writersgroup" either (none to be precise) so I'd say just another shady shell game (remember Amino-Itec-Kmos-newAInc ?).

Less downside risk for investors? Heh.

Not a bad place to get some history:

Probably the most success Bill McEwen ever saw.

How is Amiga Inc. able to do this with a backlog of games that they didn't create? Owning the Amiga trademark has nothing to do with independent Amiga game developers work. Apple can't sell The Sims without buying it from EA.

@RobertJDohnert

Here's what still bothers me about the Korean announcement a day later.

It only shows up on the WRIT Message Board, right?
Yet it is clearly a major announcement.

Why is this story not picked up by major sites as the prior stories were?

Why is it not even on their own website where the other stories appear?

I think you are confusing Amiga Games Inc. (Bill McEwen) with Amiga Inc., which is basically the estate of Pentti Kouri at this time.

I think the source of the Korea bit on the WRIT message board is from a press release company:

Amiga Games Inc a Newly Acquired Company of Writers' Group Film Corp. Announces...

Coincidentally Writer's Group Film Corp. just filed their 10-K about 1/2 hour ago.

After the stock bounced around for a few days:

Amiga Games, Inc., (snip) Announces Distribution Through Barnes & Noble's Nook Apps

"Writers' Group CEO Eric Mitchel"
and on July 1, 2013:
"Eric Mitchell, President"
Source
and just before that:
"Eric Mitchell , CFO at WRITERS GROUP FILM CORP"
Source

I do so enjoy how people give themselves new titles.

Neither of the last two press releases has reached their home page:

http://www.frnetworks.com/page/company-press-releases

Odd, given that the WRIT message board has posters wanting to herald these stories as news of great impact to the company.

Some of the threads mentioned in post #9 are still going.

From today:

For example one thing mentioned was "Martyn Brown (Team 17 boss)" [snip] "not even aware of a deal about team 17 games !"

The author of the post claims this was mentioned on Facebook. Perhaps someone could confirm this.
