Hi All

Don't think I be buying any more Individual computer products any more if this is the service you get. I have now emailed Elbox to see what there take is on it.

Hi,

I am not responsible for the Mediator - please turn to Elbox for support
on this.

ciao,

@g01df1sh

This was first reply

Hi,

the ACA1233 (without "n", meaning the red board) does not use Autoconfig
at all, and it does not mess with the lower Z2 space where the PCI board
resides.

In other words: You should be able to set the board jumpers to "there is
no accelerator installed", and it should boot. Since the ACA1233 will
only add memory to the $00c0.0000 space where the PCI board should keep
away, there is nothing else I can think of.

If you have the ACA1233n (black board), it will make a Z3 autoconfig for
the accelerator memory. This may interfere with the Elbox PCI board; you
may have to fiddle with jumpers for accelerators.

ciao,

I think Jens gave you a decent reply and then referred you to Elbox. Nothing wrong with that.

@soren_ladegaard

His reply dont make sence as it does not matter what jumper settings are used mediator needs to be set to 8mb or you cant run mmc config, When in this mode amiga freezes when opening sceen mode or picasso96. So card is useless with mediator and GFX. Now going to see if I can at least get network card to work. AS that does not require 8mb jumper setting

@g01df1sh

I have to agree with the other two members here, that Jens gave you good replies to your questions and complaints. He is not responsible for problems with your mediator board, and all the different expansion cards that could be installed into it.

I may not agree with everything Jens says, or does, but generally, I think he has been good at supporting his products, for a small basically one man hardware creator, in a tiny niche market/community.

Stick to AGA our of the RGB port dude, and PCMCIA networking and you won't go wrong.

First of all you have to specify the name with correct case. FastEthernet.device is correct, fastethernet.device does not work.

Secondly FastEthernet.device like many other Mediator drivers needs the gfx card RAM for DMA. To make the gfx card RAM available, you need to successfully install and run Picasso96. Only MediatorNET.device works without gfx card.

@g01df1sh

Im more inclined to put the blame on the mediator here.
Why on earth does MMC specifically need to be set to 8MB? 8MB or more makes sense, but specifically 8MB?

While Ive never been a fan of the support offered by IC in this case he's answered you as best he can, even though its something you should be contacting Elbox about.

The A1200's expansion port is a modified Zorro II bus can only address 8MB of RAM (4 if you expect to use the PCMCIA slot) It Sounds like a problem with the Mediator not seeing the ACA and mapping itself to it's address space (probably due to the special way the ACA handles its Fast RAM)

I have an ACA1233n and it uses a lot of tricks to get the best performance out of the '030 (Including fast Zorro II mode) however Sysinfo can see it as s Zorro board, can it see yours?

Wizz.
