@afxgroup

Well blow me.

This time i tried it with -vo after trying without and it worked.

It would not run with -vo cgx_mem before.
Even works with Deniils Gui now with it.

;)

Thanks

Doesn't work for me whatever I try, can anyone see anything wrong with this:

MPlayer -vo cgx_vmem::ALWAYSBORDER (filename)

Using Radeon 7000.

This works however:

MPlayer -vo cgx_wpa::ALWAYSBORDER (filename)

Cheers,
Bean.

@Bean

I put Mplayer in Ram and from a shell ran it with the file in Ram.

First without -vo then with.

What more can i say,it kicked something into touch for me.

Now to add a new twist, i reset to test and it does not work for me
again.

Hmmm.. not for me. This is the last output from the console:

VO: [cgx_vmem] 320x240 => 320x240 Planar YV12
[cgx_mem] No YUV -> RGB conversion
FATAL: Cannot initialize video driver.

Does this mean I need a better video card!?

Cheers,
Bean.

Haha I cracked it.

Change to 32 bit screen.

I just remembered i put to use 32bit because Moovid prefers 16 bit for colour iirc.

16bit RGBPC is not supported. You must use the 32bit BGR

That fixed it . I set WB to 32-bit BGRA and now cgx_vmem works...

@ikir

The point being, there is a part number printed on the CPU, and two letters of that part number specify the voltage model. There is a table in the appropriate manual that lists the correct voltage for the correct speed.

50mV might make the difference between fun and smoke.

If it supports realaudio then try the BBC stations:

or a direct link:

OK, lots of comments concerning the freezing A1 problem with MPlayer.

1) I have to use wpa instead of vmem,otherwise, same as other people, vmem pops up a window for a fraction of a second and quits.

2) I have always thought I had the correct VCORE setting for my G3 at 1.44V. Every manual and guide I read always confirms that this is correct for the 750FX (I have removed the fan and checked this directly)

3) What VCORE setting do other G3 users use?

please report to me all bugs..

Bye,
Andrea

I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I have MPlayer soft-linked to my C: dir and when I try to run it from the CLI it gives me the msg 'mplayer: too many levels'. If I start it from the dir it's in it works just fine, but I'd prefer to start from the dir where my movie files are located.

Next I don't know if this is an MPlayer problem or MPlayer-GUI, but when I play DVDs from MPlayer-GUI the sound stutters and then sometimes hangs repeating the same loop over and over while the video continues playing. Also when trying to play a commercial movie a requestor pops up saying the DVD has a read/write error. Is that because the DVD's encrypted?

Lastly I know this is an MPlayer-GUI issue, but when playing a DVD for the first time an Assign requestor pops up asking for the volume 'dvd' to be inserted. What should be assigned to this, like in the user-startup file, so the requestor never pops up in the first place?

Other than these issues MPlayer works just great with all the other .avi, .mov, .mpg, and .wmv files I tried throwing at it. Thanks for all your excellent work!

@Toaks and the rest

I had weird crashes before, if i pressed any of the arrow keys to skip forward/backward in the movie it crashed.

Then I read about Mplayer working better with 32bit screens so i switched to a 32bit screen. And I got OSD working, and as a bonus the Subtitles which I have been fiddling around with works aswell. Great. CGX_Vmem works too. Sweet.

EDIT: Dang!!! I forgot to write the most important thing that worked on the 32bit screen. :) I CAN SEARCH USING THE ARROW KEYS NOW. But only in 32bit. :)

Now, there is only one minor thing that is still bugging me.

If I have Hejsan.avi and Hejsan.srt in the same directory MPlayer displays the subtitles automatically. Why? I haven't told it to do that. Bug in the GUI?

If I have Hejsan.avi and Tjolahopp.srt in the same directory and chose to use Tjolahopp.srt as subtitles from the GUI, it won't even play the movie, again, a bug in the GUI or a bug in MPlayer? I am using the very nice and brand new Reaction GUI btw. Good work. Some MPlayer graphics (logo and stuff) to spice it up wouldn't hurt though! :) Hmm.. or even support for the available skins.. (dream on spot, ...dream on!)

Oh.. and another thing, is it okay to always run the workbench in 32bit now, or is there still a lot of incompatibility probs?
