cant see CDwriter in OS4 with new uboot

| I previously had the cdwriter on my secondary VIA IDE port, and my hard drive on the primary SIL card port, and it worked, but after updating to the latest slb and uboot, it now cannot see the cdwriter no matter what I do. UBOOT can see it when I boot up, I see the cdrom info there, but I cannot see it in OS4 either on workbench or by looking at MediaToolBox..
I've tried putting the cdwriter on primary and secondary VIA IDE ports, and the secondary SIL port....
I tried setting sil_maxbus to 2 ....
Anyone got any suggestions??
-Edit- It's working at random now. I'm not changing any settings, and sometimes when I boot up, OS4 sees it, most of the time it doesnt...
sometimes I'm getting about 15 "unknown sense" errors in UBOOT after its detected it........ I never had these problems before updating UBOOT...

| I have not done the update yet as i have a cordless mouse that the batterys are flat on but if its like a pc the firmware update wll put all your settings back to default might be worth checking ,i have found a ps2 mouse now so if i get the time i will see what happens with my own system.

hi
I had this problem too.
try to write down the most important settings/variables you have set in UBoot
and then reset to default selecting the item in the config menu
!!! ALL your settings will be lost!!!
after reset, enter the menu again and set the lost variables you have to set.
once you saved it will hopefully find your hardware again.

Check your H/W setup. ie. master/slave/Cable Select, jumpers on the CD Drive, etc.
With the changes in UBoot ide code, it might be less tolerant.

| Also maybe your drive doesn't answer with the timeout. Some drives do that.
In this case, set manually the sii_conf variable (or ide_conf) like:
setenv sii_conf 1200
1 means HD, 2 means CD/DVD so in this example it is HD as master on primary and CD as slave on primary (and nothing in the secondary port). _________________
