Well its been more then long enough to get a reply from Amga Inc and I havent got one. Since they refuse to reply on what they require to bring OS4 to the Pegasos I have decided to end my project and offer. Thanks to all of you that supported my goals and I wish all the best for the current hardware and hope the latest legal trouble Mai is facing wont do to much harm for the A1.

@Acill

Thanks for trying, at least.

Too bad. I don't know the details of your "offer", so I can't really comment on whether or not I think it would have been a good one. If you offered them a million bucks (or another 'get rich fast scheme'), maybe their spam filter may have taken care of your email.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I understand your disappointment. I can only hope what these things will become better in a forseable future. Only time will tell...

I wish you good luck for the future. Maybe you will find something to do...

As I said before, a phone call was more appropriate for a business offer. Whatever.

I wasn't even aware of your offer. What kind of proposal did you make
if you don't mind me asking. I'm sure there are a lot of current
Pegasos owners who would buy OS4 and also a lot of people who would
buy a Pegasos for OS4. Did you have any figures to give Ainc.

@drHirudo

Business offers are not discussed on the phone. Snail mail for the most formal, then email and possibly a call to notify them ABOUT the offer. That is IF they answered the phone which is obviously not the case, he already tried.

Which office number did you try to reach or which of the executives?

Anyway IMO don't take it too personally if they really didn't take your offer seriously. Try sending a similar email to bill.gates@microsoft.com

I certainly would like to (you seem like a nice guy when we had a chat @ AmiWest), but I can't help to feel a bit ironic and surprised when you started your "project" shortly after some of your comments, such as within your OS4 Dead? Long live MorphOS! thread. Considering your "between the lines I dont see much life left in it", why start a "project" to port the OS to the Pegasos at all?

Have you tried to contact Hyperion ? They are AmigaOS !! Not Amiga, inc.
I think the Pegasos is a good Hardware, made in Germany not China, if your offer is enought for port AOS4 to pegasos, i think it will be possible !

Good Luck

@SOFISTISOFTWARE

To port AmigaOS, you need a licence from AmigaInc. Hyperion sent him to Amiga Inc.

Considering you and Amiga's current CEO were both at AmiWest last year, couldn't this year's event be a good oppertunity to have a chat? (Don'know if Garry will be there though)

Last year Garry Hare and Ben Hermans @ the AmiWest after-party. I also had a private chat the next day with Garry (yes, it's possible).

Maybe work on your offer a little. Consult with fellow Pegasos-community friends and wait until after AmiWest before giving up completely. IMHO of course.

I guess they dont want it running on to many machines they must like the small userbase os4 has, to port it would have been better for them and created a larger userbase .and increased sales

Sounds like a good idea to me too. Face to face meeting should let you talk about your project a little better. Things like this often happen (or get started) at trade shows and events. Good idea.

I think I have already pointed out multiple tmes that a port of *AmigaOS* needs a license from Amiga. I dunno why this would come as a surpise. As such, I am sorry to hear that contacting them didn't work out.

There is no way that this would work without Amiga's agreement at this time.

Licenseing issue, like I wrote in my other port.

Dunno what that has got to do with it. The Amiga 2000 A model was also done in Germany, and the B was the better machine. Almost all of today's PC's are done in China.

I don't know if this is intentional or not, but this sounds like Hyperion would have done this with the intent to block such a port. Matter of fact, however, is that there neds to be a license from Amiga to port AmigaOS to a different target. If there isn't then no amount of money can fix this problem.

I'm sorry to hear that this didn't work out.

Acill is wrong. Amiga does not demand a license from the hardware vendor. However, to run on a certain hardware *someone* needs a license from Amiga. It does not need to be bPlan or Genesi. It's bad that it is apparently impossible to get one, but that is another thing.

@Acill

It's a shame you had to discover it for yourself in this way, but considering past history I think I'd be less surprised to find a box of Cuban cigars at Walmart than I would be to read about Amiga Inc being responsible for even one sale of a Pegasos system.

The reasons are not technical or even business related, it's all just plain old human nature.
