Hi peeps,

First of all here is a adjusted 2.4.26 kernel hopefully DMA working for all amigaoneś.

http://www.rapidsharing.com/1cb0625c07b0ccc18805a8c505f10246

And now the 11th release of the 2.6.8-16 kernel.

http://www.rapidsharing.com/9467a8dedfffee831f16d463ab910896

* Most driverś enabled as modules (printers,usb etc)

* Silimage module re-enabled

* Newer (agpgart) 3D driver for testing only - please send me your dmesg and /var/log/messages to this post!

Still issues that need to be resolve - hanging on some amigaoneś

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, put the kernel image and modules to a CD, then boot your current image, then mount that cd, then copy to your partition /lib/modules and 2.6.8a1 to /boot as per this guides

http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=5084&forum=13&102
and
http://www.intuitionbase.com/static.php?section=en_os4-and-debian

Hope this helps!

You have not enabled the test agpgart driver?

in the command prompt type

modconf

then select 'char/agp'

then select ' articias-agp'

or

modprobe articias-agp

then edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and the line

Load "dri"

Give me your full dmesg output, you are missing vital info from this list!

Thanks

Yes, between me and geri we are trying to get the 3d driver to work.

But a few problems have a risen!

Namely the northbridge not doing cache-coherency!!!!!!! - so aperture allocation cannot be done with BAT type commands. We are working on a workaround.

Cool.

btw, does this kernel have support for the SiI3112 SATA card?

Hi,

3D will not work, it is just for testing only.

With DRI on, does X still load? or does it just crash after a few minutes?

Does X work with DRI off?

Thanks

Maybe we should compile in the debug output!? Could be useful...

I see that you changed the aperture SIZE_MASK to 0x9 (instead of 0x7). Are you trying to force the aperture size to a specific value?

No Crash, is Dri on, remains my monitor darkly with the attempt DRI. My Monitor remains simply only darkly but I can use my AmigaOne further. X does not start thus correctly.

>Does X work with DRI off?

Yes X is working if DRI off

@PegXlin

I got problems with adapted 2.4.26 kernel. It says "unresolved symbols in... " with almost all modules.
DMA I haven't tested yet.

Hi Fabio,

Make sure you update your kernel boot partition (i.e /boot or a specific partition) with the supplyed kernel, and update the /lib/modules aswell!

Otherwise you will get unresolved module errors!

Hello,

This test module is only for people who have a AGP card and not the built in video card/chip!

No Crash, is Dri on, remains my monitor darkly with the attempt DRI. My Monitor remains simply only darkly but I can use my AmigaOne further. X does not start thus correctly.

Yes X is working if DRI off

Hi geri,

Yes, because as we know, we have no control over the aperture size i.e no bios front end to set aperture size!

Maybe we should compile in the debug output!? Could be useful...

I see that you changed the aperture SIZE_MASK to 0x9 (instead of 0x7). Are you trying to force the aperture size to a specific value?

@PegXlin

I think we can set the aperture size in the device init routine, which detects the ArticiaS chipset. IMHO the SIZE_MASK should stay 0x7, because it is also used to mask the AGP TLB base address, which would be masked incorrectly with the current setting! A simple PCI write byte access should do the trick.
