Only for MorphOS at this time

http://www.stuntz.com/muibeta_20060226.lha

You can see the ChangeLog with additional information:

Quote:
this is a snapshot of the current mui development state. it's by no
means finished and severly lacks polishing in several areas. i wont have
time to work on it during summer though, so i'll simply release it
publically in case somebody wants to play with it.

a word of warning: there were some very substantial changes to MUIs
internals. i tried to keep compatibility with older apps, but it's kind
of hard to support stuff that's been dead for many years. your favourite
MUI program may very well stop working properly with this release, so do
yourself a favor and keep a backup copy of your old MUI!

only a MOS version is available at the moment since that's the system I
use for developing. no keyfile needed, no timeouts. there was supposed
to be something for OS4 too, but folks over there were (and still are)
unable to supply a machine for porting.

so again... this is only a current development snapshot, messy and less
polished than previous releases during the good old amiga times. dont
use it if you cant handle that :).

installation is as simple as unpacking the stuff into mossys:, the sdk
is included within muisdk.lha.

@samo79

So the only thing holding back MUI4 for OS4 is the lack of hardware, as I understand.

@AMiGR

Indeed! Each day it resembles more and more with Feelin!

@pixie

Difference is, this is actually useful. Feelin doesn't look sharp enough for me, it looks like a GUI mock-up.

You know I'm clicking that "Don'tClickMe! button as soon as possible.
Looks nice, now if I just had an ACK board, OS4 and the resources to
help get MUI 4 ported.............

Shareware restrictions removed? Interesting...I guess there will be no personalized keyfiles anymore then.

Thanks Stunzi, good luck, and guys/girls, it's not too late to register/donate I guess. (it's cheap, 25 dollars AFAIK)

That could be for the MOS version only. It's always been free.

@Rachy
I suspect we can blame Douglas Adams (HHGTTG) for that

@All

It's looking very good, alright Very close to the look of OS4 Reaction-GUI

I just hope the author of MUI will manage to get himself an AmigaOne, so that
he can start working on the OS4 version of MUI 4.0

AmigaOS 4:MUI/Docs/ChangeLog-OS4

2005-12-17 Jens Langner

* final OS4 relevant housekeeping of the MUI 3.9 sources as we will
concentrate on porting the MUI4 sources.

As long as noone donates AmigaONEs for software development
I doubt you will see MUI4 on OS4.. It's pretty common today that
these kinds of community developers gets free hardware. It's pretty
much only the Windows and OS X developers who can pay for any
hardware and still make a profit..

@ironfist

That's very sad to hear, as MUI 4 would be something very cool for the
OS4, as an additional GUI-system for programs based on MUI..

As a wise man once said:
To donate an AmigaOne one must first buy an AmigaOne.

So where are those mystical and mythical sellable AmigaOne mobo's?

Why do we need this? MUI 4 is somewhat incompatible with MUI 3 so there's
our chance to get rid of all MUI dependancies for good.
We only need ONE GUI system! Otherwise the OS will get messy and look
non-professional.

Help code some good classes for ReAction instead, or improve upon some existing.

@Samwel

I can't comment on the Reaction of OS4, but even MUI 3.8 is clearly superior from Reaction of OS3.9 . Things are probably different now with OS4, i don't know.

@ironfist

If the powervixxen becomes available soon and at the suggested price there should be plenty of developers finding themeselves with OS4 hardware.

If the PV become available at $300 and MUI registration is $25 then that means that means that if 12 registrations cover the cost of a PV and 1 or 2 more to cover the postage costs.

These type of donations should be easy to fund.
