No.

But maybe we'll finally see a prototype before summer.

If everything works out as planned (prototype testing, first test production runs, licensing, OS4 adaptions), I'll expect the Amy '05 to be on sale around the start of 2007.

dunno but looks like one of the partners is Godfreys Online, so may be A1200 can enlighten those who are interested in the troika project.

@polka.

I don't think it will happen, apparently the guy already lied before christmas saying it was already in a production run or something if I remember correctly so why should we trust anything else he says?

Wish SOMETHING would come along though, would be a shame to see OS4 never be released because of no hardware

Maybe the guy who is doing the website, putting all the fluff there, making unrealistic announcements and posting meaningless stuff here under the Troika-name is not the same guy that is doing the hardware. We can just hope.

Nah, at least they should be able to release for Classic PPC. Preferably until tomorrow.

In current situation we just can't reject any hardware, even if it don't conform to today's standards. Besides, keep in mind that not everybody can afford a state of the art MB which costs a fortune. Of course the best solution would be to have both of them available.

What was said back then was no such thing. The only thing I've seen from them is just estimates for when they expect to be able to start production and not all that surprisingly, things hasn't exactly progressed as they'd hoped for. That's no different from Windows Vista or the Playstation3, it's simply business as usual. Get over it.

Yes, but business as usuall would also include a statement saying something about a delay, when you already promised your customers two production runs before christmas. So don't tell people to get over it...

Come on, do you really think we're working five years on this thing and just stand by doing nothing? OS 4 will come out, even if I have to solder the hardware together myself.

"just estimates" (samface) sounds a bit different than "two production runs scheduled
for 2005." (Troika) in my opinion. If they would have said something like "we hope that we can start production in late...", then it would have been an estimate.

Concerning the prototype:
"Amiga Big Bash 3 are proud to announce that we will be displaying the Troika "Prometheus", motherboard, exclusively to the world at our event in 12 Days time. "

"Provided all our electronic parts show on time, we will have one of our prototypes available at Big Bash 3."

Note that Big Bash 3 took place Saturday 24th of September 2005.

Well you would have to be mad to want to buy the Amy 05 anyway, The specs are extremely bad even for a low spec board, Hopefully it wont come out because soembody else has something up there sleeve.
Amy is nowhere near a realistic price for the terrible specs and doesn't have the novelty factor of something like the Powervixen (If either are real that is)
I think as soon as people forget about Troika and ACK and just hold out eventually something real has to happen or you can just go use a Mac or PC and save some money.

It looks from a business perspective that Troika are rellying heavily on this whole "Amiga users will pay for anything" routine and i dont think in the year 2006 this will be the case, And indeed why should it be ?

Yeah, what about a "Frieden '06"? Just tell us the form-factor and we will immediately start rendering cases for it.

But at least his RoHS-compliance can be assured. Just flesh & bones.
Oh wait, what about dental fillings?
