I just stumbled over the source codes on AmiNet.. so I was wondering if there is any sysop's left? Anyone intrested in a OS4 port?

DayDream (dD!) is an AmiExpress clone that is easier to configure.
It was originally written by Hydra from AmigaOS, and then Origo/C-Lous/Subspace
took over. And it eventually died, only to be picked up by Hydra
again, and it's still being developed for linux.

Okey the version on AmiNet is only v3...

Trying to compile that version was not anybit easy.. complained about every thing :/

For me its easyer to compile the v4.2 rather than DayDream.. but ofcoarse it not so feature full

Will AmiExpress be able to use 68k doors? And/or 68k Daydream doors?
I'm asking because I made a whole bunch of them in the late 90's

Btw the Amiga version of Daydream will probably never be ported to OS4.
I has way too much assembler code and hacks in it. It will be easier to start
over and use the same API.
Btw after Origo it was continued by a guy from Serbia I think. Can't remember
his name now.. I was in contact with a guy from his group at the time. Asking
for improvements to Daydream and also beta testing it while coding doors

EDIT: btw I went by the name Wolfman back then.

That is to early to say but I dont see why not..

The last 5 hours I have been figthing with gcc to get it to compiler with -Wall -Werror

I can tell you that gcc4 don't like 13 years old SAS/C sources.

me and origo also did some doors back in the days (i made the ascii design)
I also made the default ascii design for Daydream. Man I like Daydream! =)

Hmm no. Wolfman/iLT

The last year I did some work on doors I worked on two quite advanced doors which
needed some updates to Daydream which Origo added for me.

I also made quite many ARexx doors. But all those where released outside a group.
My doors used to be called "DreamXXXXXX" ex. DreamLogin, DreamUser etc..

MasterWall was a skinnable Wall which each user on the BBS could save his own
configuration and have a different look than others. It also saved 100 wall lines and
users could flip page back and forth. Alot of other functions like banned users,
banned words, sysop able to edit any line, user able to edit his own line, anonymous
posts (but not for sysop) among other things..
DreamUser was a super advanced userlist which the sysop could do pretty much
anything with users remotely, if not at home for example. Also nice for others than
the sysop of course.

Yes, please. Is there any other BBS software besides C-net that currently works under OS4? I've tried TAG-BBS and although the latter releases worked better than the earlier ones they still had show-stopping problems. For instance v6 complained that the stack was only set to 500bytes when in fact it was set to 2000000. And Exclesior just froze up without any sort of error indication.

One thing I'm still unclear on after extensive research is how do you get the BBS to communicate with Telnet so that you can put the BBS on the Internet?

telnetd.device. It can be found on Aminet and used for incoming telnet. It's emulates a modem so it sends the "RING" result when someone connects to a telnet port on the your BBS box.

You can also use telser.device which lets you "dial out" using telnet.

atdt {ip} [port#]

telser was made freeware about a year ago. At least this is what we use for CNet. I don;t know of anyone who has used these on AmiExpress or any other Amiga BBS packages. But I would think they should work like serial.device.
