Pretty please, can we drop the dramatic attitude, for once? Mickey_C was, at best, not quite liked for his "work" as a moderator by many, on this site. It's to be expected that among the various "I'll miss you" comments, there might be some that are more along the lines of "thank you for leaving".

Respect has nothing to do with this, there's nothing irrespectful about a dancing banana which conveys an hironic message and which, an intelligent reader, would have found funny, rather than offensive. Even if that reader were "on the other side" of the fence, so to speak.

Just continue with your little side kicks and abuses. I have no problem with this ... but with your last words, which I refused to quote, you show your real face!

That is not funny and in no way acceptable for me!
Haven't you learned from history?

How predictable...

As said, intelligent people know how to read irony. Draw your conclusions.

Intelligent people know when to shut up.

Now that Mikey_C is no longer a moderator, those users that didn't agree with his point of view finally got what they always hoped for. Instead of silently enjoying that turn of events - which would also be a rather polite thing to do, btw. - and looking forward to a better aw.net experience, you're extremely busy trying to make his claims ("hostile atmosphere on aw.net", "idiots taking over aw.net") look like reality.

I don't know about others, but I can do without that sort of "intelligence".

That's the most ironic statement you made recently. The sad thing is you don't see the irony in there.

@cgutjahr

Nice way of avoiding the original point and misinterpreting my words, sir. You probably missed the fact that I'm merely stating the point that if one wants to post a dancing banana in a thread where someone says "I'm leaving", he's totally entitled to do so without having to be accused of all sort of things.

For all I know, seehund might just not give a damn thing about Mikey_C leaving or not - I know I personally don't - he just wanted to make a funny remark, and the ones without sense of humor didn't get it. That's all there's to it.

People who see "bads" right and left just deserve all the ironic statements they can get. I use to make fun of them all the time, too. And yes, it is fun to make them get red in the face! (pun inteded).

I had a feeling you would post something like this on this thread. You may be fairly intelligent but you are predictable..

Personally i think you are a jealous guy who can't handle seeing other people get credit where you dont feel it's due.

This is the sort of thing I'm seeing more often on amigaworld.net that I really hate. The small sarcastic digs. If Outcast posted that, I would have laughed, but there was no good friendly humour behind that coming from you. I cant hit the "report abuse" button because its too subtle. But this crap is getting more and more common. I'm sick of it.

It's my opinion that Mikey_C and MikeB were THE two least suitable people that could possibly have been allowed to moderate anything anywhere, and that their abuse of moderator privileges here has damaged AW.net and its reputation (and by extension the community and AmigaOS). So, of course I'm happy to see their abuse come to a definite end here. Aren't people allowed to think so, according to the ToS? Aren't people allowed to say so, according to the ToS? "Too subtle"? For what? There's no abuse or ToS violation, you just do not agree. Well, now I spelled it out. It's not even sarcasm or irony, and certainly not an underhanded dig.

For once I thought the use of a dancing banana actually was fitting. That was ironic, with the irony aimed at the "blind cheerleader and unpaid marketer" attitude and bad reputation of the old AW.net, often symbolised by the banana, that these two former moderators have taken part in promoting.

Feel free to be "sick" about "crap" (opinions you disagree with), or ignore it. Now you're even allowed to reply to it, even if what you find sickening would happen to be what once was the "politically correct" opinion here. :)

No it’s trolling… and thats covered under the site rules…

:D

So sorry, but the MikeB/Mikey_C personal, arbitrarily flexible and unique definitions of "trolling" are no longer in effect. People are no longer officially labelled "Enemy of the Proletariat", "Counterrevolutionary" or "Troll" based on the personal opinions of fanatical People's Commissars. The wall has fallen! Perestroika! :)

"Something like this" being the "Führer" reference? What was predictable about it is the reaction it generated, actually. It was a trap set there on purpose, to see whether anyone would bother replying to the real content of the message rather than focusing on the "Führer" reference.

So far, everyone, including the moderator, proved my point: it's just too easy to hit the "report" button when you feel nailed in the corner.

And then, Führer simply means leader, whilst "idiot" means "idiot", and the people I was responding to have used that word to address seehund and the ones who don't feel he's done anything wrong. Haven't seen them moderated, yet.

Food for thought people, food for thought!

Now now... what's that if not a personal attack? But I'll let it go, 'cause I don't feel offended by it. For the record, I'm not jealous of anyone, I have all the credit I need and deserve in real and virtual life, thanks. And, what's more, I have self-exteem.

Just read what I write, focus on the substance, don't try and interpret my motives, they are, at best, irrelevant. The message is important, the content. When will you lot learn this little truth?

Err... Three posts earlier, you were speaking about "sickening crap", the "Report" button and stuff?

Well, I never use the "Report" button (not unless someone would e.g. post an embedded goatse.cx picture or sabotage the forum with a meg of kiddie porn novels, and no moderator had spotted it), so I'll leave it up to you if you wish to edit your post yourself. You didn't even offend me, I'm just amused by the irony. It seldom gets that far from "subtle". :)

Indeed, and he wasn't alone at that. I even quoted and made that bold, but no one, including the target of my reply, seemed to have gotten the message.

Dunno whether it's more sad than it is ironic, to be honest.
