@alanwall

I suppose this message probably constitutes the quintessential silly-question, but...

What exactly constitutes a "signature"? One's name? A short message? A scanned-in image of one's "John Henry" sent as an attachment?

I ask because I want to make sure I send the correct thing when I send something.

@alanwall

This is sad news, indeed. I, too, did not know him personally, but I may have interacted with him once or twice "back in the day" on c.s.a.m and c.s.a.a.

Gary, you were always insightful and knowledgeable. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Sorry to hear that

Best wishes to Gary, his family and friends.

I can only hope he can spend the time he has with the people he loves, without suffering. And maybe this love gives you the power to live, I hope you recover Gary.

@T_Power

Although I guess those links are provided with good faith, I don't believe much in "natural" solutions and much less in people trying to sell me a book taking advantage of desperate people.

...However if you are interested in cancer research you may find this text interesting (maybe in the next 10 years we see a commercial solution similar to this):

An interesting study

Dr Bru used doses much higher than the normal ones used in normal theraphies to make the inmunitary system stronger so the cancer decreased its size. His method is not useful in all types of cancer because while the treatment is being done there's an inflamation of the cancerous meat and it could have fatal consequences in the brain.

Unfortunately Dr Antonio Bru is not allowed to continue researching in Spain due to corporativism and ignorance.

I hope that maybe in some foreign country like USA someone hears about his theories and documents and tries to continue researching if his theraphy is really effective.

Really sorry to hear that

Someone give the man an AmigaOne to play with!
(Joy and happiness are pretty effective cures for many illnesses)
As irrational as it may seem, some Chinese and Boudhist doctors have been very successful with "energy work" (don't know the exact name) at helping and sometimes curing "terminal" cancer patients. Might be worth a try.

@Crumb
You should know that in the US any form of treatment not relying on chemicals, radiations and other AMA-approved methods isn't welcome.
Many doctors had to move south of the border to be able to continue their work... (not saying they weren't selling snake oil, who knows, but dealing with the cause of illnesses rather than the symptoms isn't part of the AMA methodology yet)

I did not know Gary personaly but I also send him best wishes. Hope he'll recover from this.

@alanwall
You may want to somehow "encode" Dave's mail so it won't be harvested by spammers (if it wasn't already).

Dr Antonio Bru's study only uses high doses (at least 10 times bigger than normal treatment used after chemotheraphy) of filgastrim (Neupogen). This has been already tested succesfuly by his team of doctors in two persons with 2 different types of cancer and also in rats.

It's more or less the same theraphy used nowadays but the biggest difference is that Neupogen is provided in high doses so the own body starts to kill cancerous cells.

I do not believe this is the time or place to argue or debate. Let's have some decorum.

Gary used to post on Fidonet/Amiga when Asha was Moderator; ca. 1999-2001.
I miss the Sunday chats, but don't have anyway of establishing a connection.

@Snuffy

Well, the AshaChats still take place evvvery Sunday evening from 9pm to 11pm+ ET. All you need is an IRC client, such as WookieChat or BenderIRC or BlackIRC for the Amiga, or mIRC or ChatZilla for the peecee, or various others for the peecee and other platforms.

I was really hoping someone would clarify that as well. The only way I can think of is to take a digital picture of my sig & crop it in ImageFX to a normal size. You could also use a scanner if you had one, which I don't.

As far as Snuffy, I don't think he has a net connection at the moment. I recall him saying he was using someone elses connection to post here.

My best to Gary & his family in these sad times. I still remember chatting with Gary on the Sunday chat about the goings on at 03' Amiwest show. I hope for the best & we will miss him if/when it's his turn to go.

Oh no :'( ... Why does good people in the Amiga community either die or get other losses? I don't know him as a person but I know him by what he's written on the net or what others has written with his name mentioned...

This is so very sad... I don't even know what to say... I'm so sorry...

I used to have my first modem/internet interactivity with Fidonet.

Still remember my exchanges with Gary and Asha etc.
